2-0, Decent goal from Bamford, think I'll turn off now.
Re: Leeds v West Brom
Leeds look like a very good side. High tempo pressing and quality on the ball. Making West Brom look very poor.

They got pretty excited when it was announced the old age pension was being increased by more than inflation.Steve1956 wrote:Has the Bob Lord ever bounced ?

I like Leeds because their fans love being hated. Tell them they’re your second team and it really tips them over the edge.

True, they will after spend & hope premiership defenders are just as generous as championship defenders when roofe & co are about. I follow west yorkshire sport they might replicate Huddersfield for a season or 2, I'd say leeds are bigger if they invest.Vegas Claret wrote:just like Fulham last season

Yes main core support you will get pockets elsewhere, wharfedale areas ect, they seem to travel in large numbers, i don't personally want them to get promoted but it's looking like they could.Funkydrummer wrote:Another one team city - nothing to write home about.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Leeds are a good side and are well equipped for PL football because they fall down at the slightest contact, holding their heads, even when the contact is with their chest or arm, they are good at rolling around and stayng down, even after minimal contact, in fact, they are honing their skills to con the officials at every opportunity. Yes ---they will do well in the new world of non-contact football. They really have no need to resort to these tactics!

The smoke that gets blown up Bielsa’s arse by the media is on a new level.
I listened to a podcast on the BBC re Bielsa and 5 minutes was spent talking about the genius move to install a games room. Nice touch, but nothing that hasn’t been done at dozens of clubs.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Lots of teams who get promoted don't seem to realise that if they really are going to spend gazillions they simply HAVE to spend it on defenders. Everything else is irrelevant if you're leaking shed loads of goals at the back. Keeping out PL opposition isn't easy and doesn't come cheap, but so often teams buy expensive, eye catching foreign strikers and attacking midfielders and think the defence which got them out of the Championship will be ok in the PL. It won't!! And a bunch of Fulham fans were telling me exactly this in the pub after our game at the Turf.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Unfortunately if they do come up,they will be here to stay. Will be heavily backed and like it or not will be a huge pull to many players. And being based so close to us its bad news for us. Competing with Huddersfield on and off the field is one thing. But with a good manager (which they already have) , heavy backing (which I expect they will get) and a vocal support they could be a real danger.
Tbh if we stay up it looks like some more established clubs are likely to get up this year unless Bristol City make it. And even they have a massive backer.
Better hope Southampton or Newcastle drop.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Tbh I think the opposite. Getting goals is what will keep you up. City, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Arsenal and Liverpool will score against any defence. So you have to have something about you to nick one back or they will shut up shop or punish you more.Dark Cloud wrote:Lots of teams who get promoted don't seem to realise that if they really are going to spend gazillions they simply HAVE to spend it on defenders. Look at when boro went down. Excellent defence. Couldnt score anywhere near enough goals. Huddersfield this year similar.
We are still in with a chance because we have a threat or two. We have shipped way too many goals. But still in a good place.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Seemed very, very unusual that, in the final 10 minutes & 3-0 up, Leeds were still hunting down, very aggressively, in packs of at least 3!! Was that ‘mass’ desire or, perhaps some unorthodox training regime?

Re: Leeds v West Brom
On form they are a joy to watch. Burnley v Leeds next season, one of the top fixtures with a hell of a history.
Years ago, Jimmy Adamson was in talks with Keegan to bring him to Leeds but the directors would not back him.
I always wonder how Keegan would have changed the history of the club.
Anyway, Adamson gave in at that point and after they sacked him Leeds paid 900,000 for flop Peter Barnes.
And down and down they went to our great amusement.

Re: Leeds v West Brom
Leeds were impressive last night against a poor WBA side who played with no tempo.
If Leeds do get promoted they will need to step up to survive in the Premier league the gulf is huge.
Looking at the top 6 championship sides, non of them are ripping the division apart like Wolves did last season.
I honestly can't see anyone promoted side coming up out of the championship staying up next season.

The thing in Leeds favour is lots of young players who are on an upward curve.
Re: Leeds v West Brom
I went last night (friend had a spare) and have to say it was brilliant. Atmosphere, attacking football under the lights.
