Cheers for that Whatsupdoc, definitely a must see.

We played Tottenham twice in 1909, a league game in front of 8,000 fans and a Cup replay with a crowd of 30,000.

Which one will it be?

Leeds would have had 80,000 at both with 260,000 waiting outside - tinpot.

Right, a few goals to see then.

With the small original stands 30,000 must have packed the ground to the rafters.

Will be very interesting to watch.

In 1909 two sides of the ground were already covered, the original Brunshaw Road Stand and the Star Stand which eventually made way for the Longside Terrace.

I should have added the match score was 3-1, following a 0-0 draw at Spurs.
Re then playing in Green shirts, I would like the away strip to be Green, as this wouldn't clash with other teams strips, unless Norwich come up, but then we could play in Claret n Blue. In my opinion the Club seems to be stuck for ideas of a change of colour away strip.

Their away followings during the sixties and seventies were just a few more than us.thats why there was so much trouble with them.. 260.000 is stretching it though. :D

Short and sweet, but still well worth the watch.

Seemed strange seeing us playing in green for a home game at the Turf. Half-time scoreboard at the back of the BeeHole end and stayed there for many years.

Great shot of the inebriated guy being carted off between two policemen. Some things never change!

I remember the last time we had a Green away strip, it's fair to say it didn't go well !

1994-95 .... 15 points out of a possible 69 away from home, and duly relegated. We even " leant " the strip to Southend for the home game at Turf Moor, when the Referee decreed that their away kit clashed with our Claret & Blue ..... they lost 5-1 wearing the b****y things !! :( :(

That kit was used for the 1993-94 season (promotion via the play-offs) not the relegation season of 1994-95.

Officially, it was our third kit for both seasons, apparently. Did we ever win a game in it ? :D

Won at York in the Associate Members Sherpa Van Checkatrade Freight Rover thingy. If I remember rightly.

Man City reserves also borrowed the shorts for a reserve game because both sides couldn't wear white shorts. Very fetching, sky blue shirts and green-and-black shorts. Burnley won 6-1.
