Everything ours wish they were. Pheonomrnal. Our lot were intimidated from minute one and it showed.
Palace were vocal, passionate and supportive. Real connection with the players too.

So glad for your weekly update on the performance of the fans.

Re: Palace fans
Though they were poor until they scored, and only really came alive at 2-0, which think most away fans would in that situation. Game was won, they were having a ball.
Certainly have a style of play that gets you on your feat. Great to watch going forward.

I think the same. They were noisy at the start and for a few minutes after the goal, but then seemed very quiet until their second went in and it was easy street for them from then on in.MACCA wrote:Though they were poor until they scored, and only really came alive at 2-0, which think most away fans would in that situation. They are certainly entertaining but obviously something isn't quite right with either how they play or Roy's management to find themselves where they are in the table.MACCA wrote:Certainly have a style of play that gets you on your feat. Great to watch going forward.

August 2017 - all the Clarets at Stamford Bridge had a great time -
once we got over the shock of being 0-3 up at half-time against the previous season's champions.

I agree, although there now scored 7 in the last 2 away games.Spijed wrote:They are certainly entertaining but obviously something isn't quite right with either how they play or Roy's management to find themselves where they are in the table.
Not many Eddie Howes about these days, most managers play for a 1 nil. However Roy has the players and they do every now and again look very, very good going forwards, but let's be fair their back line isn't great.
They were good today, but Tompkin and Damn are hardly great footballers who will have you in the right half of the table.
They're only 2 or 3 players off being capable of being best of the rest IMO

Not sure where you get the vocal, passionate and supportive from Cricketfield, yes at home games perhaps but not today. They knew they were 2nd best in 1st half and were pretty quiet.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Everything ours wish they were. Pheonomrnal. Our lot were intimidated from minute one and it showed.

Re: Palace fans
Didn't think Palace fans were any better than any other away support this season, despite winning comfortably. Having said that, our 12th man in the CFS had disappeared by the 84th minute.

Re: Palace fans
Not sure what you base that on. Only the top 4 plus Chelsea, and perhaps surprisingly Newcastle have conceded fewer goals in the PL. Palace's great escape from relegation last season was due to Hodgson getting the team organised and getting a solid defensive framework.MACCA wrote:. I agree that they should score more but they are a difficult team to break down.
Just checked: they have 10 clean sheets in league fixtures this season, and it's probably their defensive framework that has led to their terrific away record, because they can always nick one on the break.

Re: Palace fans
I agree. Seeing new songs suggested by our fans online, yet they (mainly under 30’s) are so scared of anything new it’s untrue. We shout down any new ideas online because our fans are happy, apparently, bashing out No Nay Never 20 times per game is all they want. The truth is that our fans are shite.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Everything ours wish they were. Pheonomrnal. Our lot were intimidated from minute one and it showed.

If I was looking in from an outsider’s perspective even I’d think we were inbred. So scared of change, and considering we seemed quite inventive 30 years ago when we were at our worst it’s so surprising and disappointing.
The young ones today are tainted by a social media era where they are too scared not to fit in. They don’t want to try anything new at all.

And all that with Dann and Tonkin at CB, Ward at full back and Henassey in goal. Think no it kind of backs up my point that if they sorted that out to a better standard, they'd have a chance of best of the rest 7/8th place finish.nil_desperandum wrote:Not sure what you base that on. I think the point is that Hodgson has a strong defensive framework in which all the team play a role.MACCA wrote:And all that with Dann and Tonkin at CB, Ward at full back and Henassey in goal. With regards to the 7th/8th place finish. They made a poor start to the season, but the way they have played in recent weeks (and if Zaha stays fit) they could quite possibly finish as high as 8th or 9th. (Catching Wolves might be just too much)

Well summed up,MT03ALG wrote:Palace were a bunch of cynical cheats with the odd bit of skill helped by an incompetent ref.
Their number four at leat twice had his hand on the referees neck. Too familiar for my liking no wonder decisions like only one minute added on at h/t while Hennessey himself had already wasted much more
I find the Palace fans a bit creepy!
