Re: Tarks
Get frustrating when it's obviously not working, but we keep doing it over and over, gifting possession to our opponents.

Re: Tarks
And every cross we put in the box never got past their first defender. If it did it went past every1

Re: Tarks
I can only imagine he is under instruction to do so BUT there was one in the second half when he over hit it and Dyche told him to play the ball into midfield. It's something he desperately needs to work on, but I guess that the decision making of a 10 million quid player as opposed to the composure someone like Van Djik shows at 75 million ! Playing in the same league but not in the same league

Re: Tarks
HE simply is not England quality yet-when you compare him to Stone & McGuire

Re: Tarks
Its not Tarks long balls that are the problem. Its Mees.
Mee is a brave, tough defender. But he cant pass at all. Especially long!

Re: Tarks
Seemed to get rattled today, the whole half time kick off seemed unnecessary
Re: Tarks
Wants to make the "step up" which requires the ability to play.
I do believe though that with better players around him and on his wavelength, not as many passes would be astray and he wouldn't be made to look a fool as much as he does in this side.
We are a very reactive bunch.

Great v Spurs
Poor today and v Newcastle.
No need to drop him but if he plays poorly for a half a dozen games then Gibson might deserve a chance...but Tarks has not had a poor run of form like that for us before so don’t expect him to start now.
Tarks still pretty inexperienced and learning but he’s done great for us.

Re: Tarks
Tarkowski is at his best when he just keeps things simple. He is good on the ball, but what he's absolutely crap at is those long diagonals that he's convinced himself he's brilliant at.
9 out of 10 of his attempted long passes are shanked out of play.

I think we are hoping he gets another England cap or 2, then flog for 40m, then replace with Gibson.TVC15 wrote:Great v Spurs

Can you imagine the excitement of next year's balance sheet if that happens?

Yeah. With the way things have been going recently with the money, that £24m we currently have will look like peanuts to the £26m we will declare after selling Tarkowski for £40m.

Re: Tarks
I don’t recall Mee reaching the JML from his own half without the ball touching the ground; or kicking to touch so well that Tarks is in the next egg chasing squad...cricketfieldclarets wrote:Its not Tarks long balls that are the problem. Its Mees.

Conditions didn’t help, but Tarks decisions yesterday were poor.

Re: Tarks
Tarks has a good football brain and plays better when he moves forward at the right time. At the moment he seems to be restricted to keep his defensive position. This seems to frustrate him and is leading to some poor choices. He can hit 30 yard passes, but someone needs to tell him that top players don’t attempt them in windy conditions.

Re: Tarks
Steps up to play 23 offside for the first and isn’t in pos to block Zarhas cross. Not tight enough on 23 for their second goal and through his legs for the third.
Never mind the whoosh!
