Was at that match. Bit of a push to get there in the car with 4 others after work, but still managed a couple of pints beforehand and after (I wasn't driving btw) and was on for the kick off. We couldn't believe the number of clarets who showed up and when we scored the equaliser it was absolute bedlam. Shame it slipped away after that.

If Des Walker is worth five million then Joe Jacub is worth ten. :D

I think the commentator had just auditioned for the Royle Family or was he in New Order or Oasis?

Young Jakub? He was nearly 33 when the game was played.

Got there late as well but remember Pearce’s horror tackle on Hamilton and the stick he got back at the Turf. Just watched the game and smiled at Deary’s late tackle on Keane and Measham’s on Clough

I haven't watched the link but if its the commentary I remember from the video it is classic. When Burnley score and we are going batshit the commentator comes out with "The crowd are static" instead of ecstatic....

Wow that brought back some memories. Tremendous away following which grew and grew as the game went on. Forest were one of the best teams in the country at the time and we matched them for a very long stretch playing with 10 men for an hour - tiredness told in the end but it was a great night all the same.

The commentary is legendary - John Cooper Clarke meets Shaun Ryder - "I'll tell you now and I'll tell you firmly.............."

Just seen me in the crowd on about 4 mins in, doing that silly football dance and generally being leary.
Cops nearly arrested me that night in the ground

We were lucky, we got there five minutes before kick off and already they had run out of pies and programmes. I was chatting with some bird who worked for the club and she said they were expecting 500 max to travel. About five thousand were there.
Legendary scenes when that equaliser went in.

Thanks for that, 3 of us travelled down from Leeds, despite a circuitous route via the ring road, I parked up at Notts Counties ground and had a couple of beers I think in a pub attached to the cricket ground.
We gave then a game for about an hour, until we tired. What a following, our fans were coming in a good 20 minutes after the kick off.
Despite knowing the result, I kept watching till the end to what must be one of the greatest commentaries of all time.
To add to above, a couple of classics:-
“ 5 million for Des Walker, I bet the whole town ! Of Burnley’s not worth that “ ( I am sure he said town )
“ Nigel Cloughs going to get a rollicking from his dad, no supper tonight for him and sent straight to bed “ :D :D :D .
Must watch again soon and add some more :P

Calling the Forest player a carthorse is brilliant.

A brilliant trip down memory lane.
Travelled down with Rossendale Clarets and had a fantastic pub stop about 20 minutes outside Nottingham. For some reason the driver managed to take nearly two hours to get to the ground.
Remember the away end constantly filling up, the horror tackle by Pearce, loads of arrests for foul language, with coppers wading in and picking random people out saying they had been swearing and Brian Clough doesn’t like swearing, think the fine was about £30 plus costs for those unlucky to be picked out.
Singing the standard Elton Welsby is a w*nker and B*stards, B*stards can you hear us on the box. Brilliant night.
