Confusing dental drawing.

I've got to go and see a dental surgeon and confirm which tooth is to be operated on. My tooth is upper right, but it one looks at the drawing looking at the top teeth, it's on the left.

The two halves of the mouth I resume are to represent the open mouth AS THE DENTIST SEES IT. But they are asking THE PATIENT to confirm it. is The patient is expected to confirm it, from the dentist's perspective, which is not how it is.

It doesn't say on the drawing, it's very confusing, especially if your are dyslexic, or infirm, or ill or whatever. I went back to the dentist and they said it's been standard for 100 years FOR DENTISTS WHO KNOW.

If you are the patient it is not clear.

It must have caused a lot of mishap down the years, where if it's a wisdom tooth to come out, it might not be obvious from looking in the mouth. I have a hole with a root in, so there's an obvious problem.

It's to be interpreted as if you are looking at the teeth from the front, directly facing the patient. Hence, the tooth highlighted in yellow is on the upper right, fourth back, and the purple one is upper left, fourth back.
Trust me, I'm an ex-dentist.

I'VE ALREADY STATED THAT, Pimlico.

The form is asking the patient to confirm, the status of the tooth. That's NOT AS THE DENTIST SEES IT.

The status of the tooth IS HOW IT IS, IN THE MOUTH, surely.

If it were correct for the patient, it would have two semi-circles not opposing, because it's asking the patient to confirm, not the dentist. Aclaret also has a point because I only have six teeth on the upper right, I said it was third from the back and not fourth from the front.

It's supposed to look like an open mouth but it looks like a plan drawing.

How did the dentist become a brain surgeon? I don’t know. How?

His drill slipped.

He (she*) was looking "down in the mouth" all day ;)

No he's from Kanchaniburi, one of the liberated ones though. They could always have aimed to miss in 1950, that would have been enough. I know from being shot at, as a child by a farmer. I drive a Hyundai anyway... nice cars, hold the road well and nippy. :-)
