If anyone is genuinely expecting teams like West Ham, Everton and to a lesser extent Spurs to do anyone a favour by turning up every week they will be left disappointed...

IF we beat Cardiff we will be fine.

We have four games before that and need more points to be completely safe but Cardiff now have eight games left which are three at home and five away.

Chelsea (h)
Manchester City (a)
Burnley (a)
Liverpool (h)
Fulham (a)
Crystal Palace(h)
Manchester United (a)

*Brighton (a) To be rearranged due to cup involvement.

A win would effectively give us a six point cushion as things stand.

For those thinking we won't win another couple of games at least, Cardiff had been dire in the last three matches yet pulled out the result today against West Ham.

Cardiff game looks like it will be nervy. If they have the opportunity to win and go above us it will give them confidence.

Good performance tomorrow and some Points v Leicester will do a lot to dispel any creeping doubts.

West Ham just don’t turn up sometimes.

Flaky is an understatement for that lot.

I’d rather rely on Huddersfield to do us a favour somewhere than that lot (certainly away from home)

Terrible day for us but we have to make sure we’re not relying on anyone else to do us a favour.

It’ll go down to the wire between us and Cardiff I think.

The only positive I can find is looking at Cardiff's remaining fixtures, most of the sides they face have something to play for. We have Leicester (yes trying to impress new manager, Wolves (maybe Europa League), Bournemouth, Everton and Arsenal who all arguably don't have a lot to play for. The end of the season always throws up some funny results.

One thing is for sure, we need to beat Cardiff and probably need six or seven more points.

The final part of the season should be great fun now. Not to say I wouldn't rather be 7th but it’s good to feel something hangs on games.

Remember we are unbeaten in 8 before Dyche got beat by two managers who have managed England and won Champions League between them. Dyche struggles against top, top defensive coaches (Jose is another one). No big deal, we’ll get the results we need and in the process we will find out who is truly good enough at this level under pressure (Taylor, Westwood and McNeil are relatively unproven, Westwood was in and out at Villa).

Having got our Mojo back the last two games seem like it has gone again. We are in desparate need of getting it back and tomorrow is the time to find it again as it may all hang on goal difference and a 5-0 thumping after today's results is the last thing we want going into the next 4 games (I have written off Arsenal City, Everton and Chelsea games)

Everton's not a write off - I'd probably fancy our chances there over Leicester or Wolves at home in all honesty.

If we need to win away at Everton on the penultimate game of the season, we will.

Quote me on it, two months hence.

Bad day today, but these things happen once in a while. Still well in our own hands and we'd have all taken this on Boxing Day.

Plenty of football to played yet, it'll be a rollercoaster I dare say but you'd still back us to beat Cardiff down the stretch.

We should have had that penalty when Barnes was pulled down for a stone wall penalty vs Southampton

I don’t care if we go down due to finishing in bottom three on merit but we have been robbed of six points which might send us down - that is so unfair

Once we add a 1st team player or some depth in the window, we will kick on again.

We should be fine this season, they are 2 terrible teams already down, and the weakest team in the league are merely making a fist of it but wint have enough.

We knew this in August and was our plan all along.

had we signed a couple of players that we needed we 'could' possibly be safe by now (no certainty) and today's games would have been irrelevant.

We may well have been in the league position we’re in now, or who knows, possibly even worse, regardless of what had happened in the last two windows.

Some people just can’t stop bleating on about transfer windows.

you mean like our manager does - there's a reason he does - or did you miss him banging on about the transfer window and his need for players in the 200 interviews he's given this season ??
