Foorball just gets sicker by the day. I, for one, am getting a bit cheesed off with it all.
Terrible way of behaving.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Seemingly defeats to Boro, Sheff Utd and Leeds have contributed to his sacking. Just 4 wins from last 12 games.
Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
I just don't understand. They're looking very good for a play off place and have a sniff of automatic promotion. And they sack the man?
Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Ridiculous .... But Football for some is a results based business and if you are not getting results you get strapped into the managerial ejector seat.

Don't deserve to feature in promotion-they must have someone lined up-lets hope they fail to qualify for the play-offs

I think they never wanted Moore and were probably disappointed when he had a bit of spirit in the team at the end of last season.
Couldn't wait to sack him. It stinks

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
BAME supporters will be all over this. I’m as surprised as everybody else but they have under-performed for the squad they have, even if they are still in the play-off places. Losing Harvey Barnes didn’t help him.
Graeme Jones is regularly linked with decent jobs. He will have to make a decision to manage or stay a coach.
They have to have someone lined up, at this stage.

I would of thought Wagner would be number 1 choice as he's more suited to how West Brom like to play n he's a free agent..joey13 wrote:Lee Johnson in apparently

I don't. I have them in my 2018/19 acca. His sacking is a gobsmacking decision, thoughDAVETHEVICAR wrote:Hope they miss out on the play offs now

James Shan put in temporary charge. On his Baggies profile he is credited with nuturing Chris Wood.

Matt Wilson, who covers West Brom for the Express & Star, has suggested they like Slavisa Jokanovic

They are hoping to appoint before the midweek game against Swansea. The suggestions are that it's between Jokanovic and Wagner.Devils_Advocate wrote:If they get Jokanovic then that's one hell of an upgrade

It’s Lee Johnson, not sure why they think he is a step up , he’s done ok at Bristol City but hardly pulled up treesclaretdj wrote:I would of thought Wagner would be number 1 choice as he's more suited to how West Brom like to play n he's a free agent..
WBA haven’t won at home since Boxing Day and lost to all their major rivals so not a total surprise

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
I don't think you are far off there, i can remember them winning at OT think it was near to end of the season & a sense of obligation followed & like you said spirit seemed to be there, after the mess pardew left i think they was thankful for anybody at the helm.Claretmatt4 wrote:I think they never wanted Moore and were probably disappointed when he had a bit of spirit in the team at the end of last season.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Had a contract and it was paid up.
Manager wants to leave, he goes and the club might get compensation.
Wasn't pulling up trees and the club settled his contract.
It's a business. Perhaps he had all he asked for and hasn't delivered what he promised.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Moore's sacking means 32 of the 92 clubs (over a third of them) have now changed manager at least once since the start of the season and 46 have changed at least once since the end of last season.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Half the clubs have changed manager at least once in the last ten months.......that's incredible and, no matter what the circumstances, pretty depressing. The huge pressureupon the boards and management teams of club after club chasing what, for most, is the unachievable, is ridiculous.

They'll be hard pressed to find a manager who can do better than his 47.9% win rate.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Must say I found hearing this news quite staggering, especially given the timing.. Moore seemed to have the players onboard and were heading for a play off place at the least. Probably the strangest sacking since Birmingham parted with Gary Rowett.

Just think where we would be if we had kept him , remind me how much success he had when he left , apart from us making him a millionaireRileybobs wrote:Not a whole lot different than when Burnley sacked Laws.
Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Not cutting the mustard, considering they virtually kept their prem team. Off the pace against decent teams

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
Even if we take into account the results in their last 11 games ( 4 wins, 3 draws and 4 narrow losses, apart from Leeds) I'm not surprised. The writing was clearly on the wall in October and rumours during the January window pretty much confirmed that an exit was on the cards, before the end of the season.
His overall performance this season certainly didn't deserve a sacking, but I strongly suspect that his performance had very little to do with the decision to dispense with his services.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
I’ve had a quick scoot on some of the WBA forums, fans seems split on the decision. Some are happy to see the back of him...
Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
A real shame. He seemed like a really good, well respected, thoroughly decent young manager.
West Brom fans took issue with some of his tactics and subs, but find me a set of fans that don't question some of their manager's decisions. I'd be shortlisting Darren Moore next time we're looking for a new manager.

It's a strange time to pull the trigger,i'd have thought they would give him till the end of the season, before making the change, after all they could still return to the PL in the next few months.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
I know I agree, they got tore apart by Leeds & the reaction was a home draw against lowly Ipswich, 2 games went wrong, as somebody else has said I don’t think they wanted him from the start so didn’t need much of a excuse, It would have been more sensible to have given him longer, till end of season.tiger76 wrote:It's a strange time to pull the trigger,i'd have thought they would give him till the end of the season, before making the change, after all they could still return to the PL in the next few months.

Re: Moore sacked at West Brom
I always equated football management with sales. You have a job based on results, some companies expect instant results and will pay for the correct man other companies are willing to wait whilst new staff build up and contacts and them rear the benefits.
But as in sales you need to change your tactics based on the challenge ahead.
Dyche should be forced to binge watch the whole of series 1 of white gold in one sitting.
