Shakespearean performance today - a comedy of errors.
Oh well, as you like it.

Dread to think what the score could have been without Charlie Taylor today. the lad was excellent.

Full agreement with the other posters, Taylor was magnificent. Heaton had a rare mare.
Despite the scoreline I think we played fairly well. If you push the two monumental **** ups to one side, the lucky drop for their second and the final offside goal. Apart from that we restricted a class side to half chances.
The commentators talking about a comfortable win for Liverpool is nonsense. They were better, but they didn't play us off the pitch. We simply gifted them the game with some sloppy mistakes that made amockery of all our hard work.
Take the positives from this game, cut out the amateur errors that have sneaked back in and we have a good chance of beating any of the teams in the final stretch.

I'm still not fully sold on the last ditch "cross to Crouch" tactic. In better weather it might be effective, but putting it in play costs us to or three substitutes which makes it very expensive and predictable. If the tactical switch is planned and a player has to come off before their time, in midfield or defence, it would screw everything up. Crouch did some good work in defence today though.

On the whole, our two centre halves have had rotten seasons. Mistake after mistake, costing us goal after goal.
How Ben Gibson doesn’t get into the side would be a real head scratcher under normal circumstances, but at Burnley we know there are certain players who will never be touched.
