Glen Little?

REALLY?!??

I have to sometimes think what people on here are smoking when they post.

Who in their right mind would have Pele and Maradonna before Glen Little. Please revise your list and place Little accordingly.

Will be an argument that never ends.

For me Ronaldo is better as I would want him in a team for matches like tonight more than Messi. Messi is unreal, but when you need someone to drag you through to a result then there’s is nobody better than Ronaldo who has done it all over Europe consistently and also internationally.

As far as the Champions League goes, Ronaldo is by far the competition’s most decorated player.
If he does it again with Juventus, he’ll go four seasons without experiencing a CL exit. 8 hat tricks. Incredible.
Messi is the most skilful, but Ronaldo more powerful.

Lionel Messi is the best footballer of all time. The ability, even when he doesn’t score is simply on another level to anybody else.

Ronaldo as I said is the perfect player for knockout football. So decisive, incredible mentality. He’s the better sportsman, but Messi is the better player.

They rank 1 and 2 respectively in terms of all time, won’t hear any shouts for Pelé in particular. The standard has progressed so far, and these two around at the same time is remarkable to witness.

124 goals in the Champions League alone.

Juventus were incredible tonight and Athletico were blown away.

Messi is beautiful to watch, like a ballerina almost whilst Ronaldo is like a thoroughbred horse.

Ronaldo has done it for 4 different clubs now and also has International honours so I would say he has achieved more but you can't say who is better really as they are both on a pedestal and rightly so.

Footy skills….Messi, without a doubt. As for a guy who shows up for the big games…..Ronaldo, no question. Sorry, but I can’t get beyond Ronaldo’s total arrogance, pretty disgusting as far as I’m concerned. Ego is one thing, arrogance is another level. I can’t stand the sight of the guy, much like Trump.

Best was the best of his era, but he wouldn't be able to compete with the best of todays superfit footballers.

Ronaldo is the most effective player ever for me. I’d pay more to see Messi but if I needed a result Ronaldo would be the go to guy. Also you have a greater range of tactics that you could employ. Ronaldo would even score a sheadfull for a SD team. Messi would not.

There's no doubting the genius of Messi and it's marginal the difference.

The swing towards Ronaldo for me is his superior athleticism and heading ability. He's also been prepared to try other leagues and succeeded.

Both incredible footballers and amazing that they are in the same era.
Messi the more naturally gifted player for me but Ronaldo eclipsed him success wise and doing it with multiple clubs.

Maradona won the World Cup virtually single handedly and he also won a very strong Serie A with Napoli who at the time were a long way behind the big Italian clubs. Yes he was a drug cheat but I would have him up there and possibly above Ronaldo and Messi because he had the natural talent and skill of Messi and the success of Ronaldo in getting average teams to the top.

Best was just a Lee Trundle.

Seriously though Ronaldo is phenomenal. It’s 10 yeara ago when he leaped like a salmon in the CL final and scored against Chelsea.

He’s been at the top for a decade which is immense.

I always think that people don’t like saying things are the “best” ever when there In the now. Like Buildings, Cars, Footballers, Tennis Players, F1 Drivers etc etc. We always have to go back and say what about this what about that. The facts are all these things have moved on so much. Whilst all may be easier to achieve now the level has been raised far beyond anything else.

It would be interesting to see if Barca suffer a mini collapse like Real have done when Messi finally leaves.

I agree with the comments above though about picking Ronaldo if you want a game winning and I'd choose him over Messi.

I think ronaldo would have more support in this argument if he was a little more like messi personality wise.

CR just comes across as a bit arrogant, a bit “look at me I’m the best” with his (no doubt trademarked and patented) stupid stance when he’s about to miss yet another free kick. The way he rolls around for weeks when he’s nearly kicked, and how he deliberately tries to get other players booked and sent off works against him imo.

Messi is just the quiet professional.

Both are super talented and skilled, and we have been blessed to have them both in this generation.

CR is satin, where Messi is the silk.
