Apart from a very unusual performance against Liverpool which is very unlike him, no English keeper deserves it more.

Well deserved if you have already erased Sunday from your memory.

If it had been Hart who had had a stinker, there would be a thread which would now be on it's 10th page with all the goalkeeping experts hammering him for all sorts.

Good luck Tom, we like Tom.

The best English keeper at the moment,I don't rate Pickford at all he's a show pony.

Reading that it looks like Pickford will keep his place though.

Seems being able to pass a ball is more important than actually making saves for a goal keeper these days!

Apparently (I think Alan Brazil mentioned it yesterday) Tony Cascarino slated Pickford earlier in the week and was saying that Tom should be England's number 1.

...and if it were Tom's 15th 5 goal drubbing in a row, he'd probably have his own 10 page thread.

Not really as that is a way to over simplistic and agenda driven view.A goalkeeper needs to have many different attributes and in the modern game (especially in International football where possession is key) being comfortable with the ball at your feet is one of them. It is then the managers job to weigh up and compare all the attributes of each keeper and make a choice who the best keeper for their team.

Your view is akin to moaning at Dyche for picking a player like Boyd saying it seems being able to run a long way and defend is more important than being able to take players on and create chances for a winger. The reality is a winger needs many attributes and Dyche weighs up what are most valuable for his team and tactics and picks the player he thinks is the best option

There were plenty of pages of criticism of Tom`s performance on the Liverpool match ratings thread.
Maybe the reason fans have not gone over the top is because of how brilliant he had been before then playing an integral part in rescuing our season from what looked like tied on relegation.
Maybe another reason was that since we signed him on a free transfer 5 plus years ago he has hardly had a bad game, captained the team to promotions, gone on to represent England and has been nothing but a brilliant ambassador for the club.

Maybe people don't have the same affection for Hart because he has done none of that for Burnley....and we got regularly tanked whilst he was in the nets.

As for Pickford - he has been nothing short of awful this season and wasn't that much better last season. As someone on the radio described him after his horror show at Newcastle he looks like someone who drinks too much Sunny Delight !!

Brilliant news to see both Tom & Tarky in and nice to see a couple of ex Clarets alongside them.

I didn’t want to tempt fate by having an article written but will do so once I’m home from the docs.

Nothing against Pickford. He's not a bad keeper.
But we've two better here at Burnley and, another as good as him.

Well done, Tom & Tarks!

Really pleased for Tom. After a really bad injury he is back and fighting.
