'Ultras'

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Wed Mar 13, 2019 9:50 pm

Germans know how to do it.

Bayern 3-1 down at home. Humiliated. And the unwritten rule out there is that they stick with the team no matter what.

Could definitely learn a few things over here from them. When it comes to atmosphere, support and passion.

The plastics!!!!

No different to anywhere else. But the Ultras section certainly different to anything here. Although increasingly common in Europe.

Unsurprising though to see ambivalence on here. Most are elated with wrethelongsrdieekjaaBURNLEH! x 6000 @ 5666554 BPM

They were waving flags and banging a drum for 90 mins. I’ve seen Nazi rallies with more atmosphere.

And better dressed

Never heard the Liverpool fans until after the 3rd goal went in and the Bayern fans left early.

There were derogatory comments about the Palace Ultras on here, again not surprising. They have never let their club down despite the lack of goals and points at home.

'All they do is bang a drum'

Yep, it helps with the timing and leads the atmosphere.

In these days of soulless modern stadia and fans who have never known singing I guess a semi manufactured atmosphere is getting more popular as the only way to get any at all .Though I remember the Palace lot flouncing like a bunch of old queens when the club wanted to move their seats .Overweight semi naked men banging drums and waving flags reeks of homoerotica imo

Spot on.

and like it or not the only way to get a good atmosphere these days is to have it coordinated and rhythmic. Not that anyone here will support it. Not many anyway!

Maybe the fact that there was 4000 Liverpool fans in the top tear vs 65,000 + bayern fans. I’m not surprissed you didn’t hear them

You could hear 3000 Burnley fans at Old Trafford against 67000+ Man Utd 'fans' if you want a comparison though.
