Getting quite a few pelters on there off United fans who must of sided with Jose over criticism of players.

Re: Paul Scholes
The owner appears to be an absolute prick, surprised Scholes went there in the first place given how grounded he himself appeared to be throughout his career

Re: Paul Scholes
As Scholesy went to the same managers training school as Gary Neville. It was likely to end in tears. Over hyped. GN is one of the better tv pundits. As for Scholes he is yet to find something which fits his skill set since he retired from Manyoo. Definitely not management or in front of the camera. Tea boy??
Re: Paul Scholes
7 games isn’t really giving something a go. Imagine if everybody quit everything because it wasn’t quite how it was described or they had imagined ....

Re: Paul Scholes
Scholesy leaving Oldham, shock! Perhaps he should join his mate Giggsy managing Wales. Or, go to America and join Beckhamy, or go an live in France with Cantonay, or better still go and lick Fergusony's ars.e a bit more. Tosssers the lot them.

It is understood Owen Coyle wants the job. BBC news.
I’d imagine that’s the same for every job that comes up.

Scholes (Paul) Out
Lasted just 31 days as Oldham manager. Strange, because he always talked a good game! Couldn't work with the people there apparently.
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with anyone else called Scholes from the Burnley area or elsewhere

Re: Scholes (Paul) Out
As mentioned on another thread on this, the owner is utterly bonkers unfortunately. A player who left Oldham recently has had plenty to say and told of all sorts of daft goings on. No wonder Scholes wanted out.
Re: Paul Scholes
Well he lasted longer than Mac's 18 days and 2 games at Notlob and I see the BBC don't list the Great Man's reign at Bolton on the list of short spells as a manager

Re: Paul Scholes
Proven managers have failed at Oldham. If he’s gone in promised A,B &C and the owner has reneged good on him for walking away.

Re: Paul Scholes
My first though is that this was a Martin Buchan type situation, but It appears not on closer inspection. He’s realised he’s been sold a lemon and has the dignity(and financial wherewithal)to walk away.

Checked and didn't see the other thread at the time of posting. By all means bin this. At least its about football and not somebody's washer, cooker, central heating, laminate flooring, bloody cricket or Brexit!

Re: Paul Scholes
Let’s just say that he didn't find Football Management all it was cracked up to be. A bit like Chris Waddle, but a least he stuck out a whole season.Steve1956 wrote:What happened again with Buchan LB ? Can you jog my memory for me?

He, like Waddle, seemed a really nice bloke. I just think both lacked the hard edge needed to be a success as a Gaffer.Steve1956 wrote:Has he ever been seen since(Buchan)

Re: Paul Scholes
I've met them both and I know which one I'd sooner go for a pint with and it's not Waddle. I won't elaborate on Waddle. On the other hand, Scholes doesn't have an ounce of arrogance and is good company too and well read.Lord Beamish wrote:He, like Waddle, seemed a really nice bloke.
Re: Paul Scholes
There version of Martin Buchan with us, elite footballers don't get poorly run lower league clubs.

Re: Paul Scholes
Didn't Buchan try to get physical with one or two of our players at the time? And then he made a huge mistake and tried it with Big Vince....
