Fleabag - TV Series

Post by AndrewJB » Thu Mar 14, 2019 7:15 pm

Anyone else enjoyed this show? I watched the first series on iPlayer over the course of the last few days, and it's very funny. Dark, and edgy.

It's different and takes a bit of getting used to but it is hilarious at times.

Yes, one of the best programs currently on. Very funny and very well written and acted by the writer of Killing Eve and you can see a similar quirky darkness.

I saw good reviews of the first series but missed it & only picked it up way after the event. I found it very witty/funny & showing a good insight into certain character traits & family relationships.
I've been following the current series in real time & it's just as good as the first series. I really like the way the main character does "aside" facial expressions to camera. High quality actors in it too.

I thought series 2 episode 1 was sensationally good and very dark at the same time. Loved it.

I loved the first series. Thanks for reminding me of series two.

One of the best written/scripted programmes I've seen on TV for a while. So quick and clever - loved the first series, glad this one has started off as good.

she's an excellent writer. Some of the best British TV comedy I've seen in years.

I think I’ll definitely give this a go. Thought Killing Eve was brilliant !

Yes, agreed. The reversal of dynamics created by the main character albeit accidentally doing something unselfish and being a little bit of a martyr seemed to me a big step up from series 1. Well worth watching if you haven't seen it. It must have been more popular than I had thought last time out looking at the extras to the cast and, presumably, the bigger budget.

Began life as a play, was very successful, won the Fringe First Award. Been off-Broadway and a UK tour.
