When is a Penalty a Penalty

Post by Stayingup » Sun Mar 17, 2019 9:32 am

Watching the Swansea Man City game after our game, when Sterling was 'tackled' and City were awrded a Penalty I thought immediately that the tackle was not as unfair as the 'foul' on Taylor in Leicesters penalty area. But we don't get a penalty. Michael Oliver should hang his head in shame at what he's dealt us this season so far. Two points at Watford and probably three yesterday.

Having said that Robbie Brady should hang his head in shame to.

Almost feels like a conspiracy to me. How many stonewall pens have we been denied this season! We would have been well clear of the drop zone. We all know little old Burnley don’t do much for the Sky brand.....who knows. Michael Oliver getting in the way of Burnley attacks yesterday. Just a feeling I have. Probably rollicks but that’s how it feels to me.

We have been pretty shafted with penalty decisions this season. Think Cardiff have had a few bad ones as well. What annoys me is that if that was at any of the big 6 at home, Oliver gives that every day, that’s what’s most annoying

You could say we had a man advantage yesterday after the red card however it became a disadvantage as Oliver didn't give us a decision after the 4th minute. Shaking hands and apologising for booking a player, what's that all about? We had Jack Cork too so it was effectively 11v10 in Leicester's favour.

If Oliver hadn’t been forced to show a red card early on he’d have given that penalty.
