Who will be our manager next season?
I am afraid to say I think Dyche will go. Whether we survive or not.
If he does my personal opinion is we should be a bit more forward thinking than we currently are.
So either one of three.
Barton. Knows the club. Played at the top. Excellent pedigree as a player and contacts to boot. Knows our players. Takes no nonsense. Started well as a young manager and that hasnt harmed united, rangers or derby.
Sol Campbell. One of biggest names in world football and a brain too match. His words not mine. Another with pedigree as a player. Not doing great at macclesfield bjt its a tough gig and would add to the lack of black managers at the top. So would get plenty of support.
Helena Costa. Portuguese. Female. Managed in Europe and Asia. Again not done a great deal as a manager but ticks a lot of diversity boxes and with support and backing could easily do better than Dyche (or Allerdyce and Pulis as the women in football thread suggests)

Time for a managerial dream team of Tim Noone and Gary Evans I think.
Need a solid combination to manage the players we have.

Balance of probability says it will be Sean Dyche. If we stay up, he stays, if we go down, he may stay.

It's a shame, that after so long in charge of our great Club, that there are so many that still can't spell his name.

Phil Brown for me, it would be sunshine everyday at the club, it would be a tantastic appointment.

At least we would be able to hear halftime team talk !beddie wrote:Phil Brown for me, it would be sunshine everyday at the club, it would be a tantastic appointment.
Re: Who will be our manager next season?
I know it’s a wind up but I have a feeling we’ll be looking for a new manager for the start of next season, regardless of division.
Re: Who will be our manager next season?
If we bin the best manager at this club since Potts it would be madness but if he walks as i am sure he will if the supporters start the clamour for a change then I could understand that.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?
I think he will be here either way. However IF we go down and IF we don't make a good start to the season I can see him going about 10-15 games in. IF we stay up then he'll probably stay the season unless we perform as Huddersfield have done this time.

If we go down, then I think he might fancy a change and it might benefit us as well.
Make no bones about it, if we go down with the squad we have then its a big black mark against the manager, especially as we appeared to have given ourselves a real chance of avoiding the drop.

Steven Gerrard is the man.
Ruthless winner, won't stand by and let mistake after mistake go unpunished.
We might have to change the colours to Red to entice him though.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?
Obvious fishing trip but for debate purposes.
Who in the PL would want him? Who in the Championship would give him a better starting position, squad and cash wise? Some players would leave but bring in revenue. Our cover players are good enough and we might bring in some talent.
He might just decide he needs a break anyway and being an honourable man I would expect him to offer his resignation. Personally I’d hope the board will decline it.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?
It will depend on whether Garlick is Chairman. He will never sack Dyche.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?
A serious answer to a supposedly daft question.
Last summer SD was un-sackable. Not so now.
The directors are businessmen. They will know what's going on within the club, which way we are heading.
They will analyze the task in front of them this summer.
I would be surprised if SD is still with us next season.

It was somewhat tongue in cheek although not entirely.expoultryboy wrote:looks like you actually caught a few
I would take Barton if Dyche was to leave. Possibly Campbell. And never Costa. Because Costa is a woman.

Re: Who will be our manager next season?
I would imagine Dyche will have a 50% wage cut/relegation clause in his contract like the players do if we are relegated
