Time to scrap the international breaks

Post by Woodleyclaret » Mon Mar 18, 2019 5:54 am

This nonsense of scrapping the whole fixture list amongst top division sides needs binning.
A solutuion is to allow teams with over 3 players selected to have their game rearranged.Squads are large enough to cope without stopping playing 4 times in the season just because some of their team get selected.

It wouldn’t make any difference.

We still wouldn’t have a game as we’d have at least 3 selected for ROI alone and those that don’t have at least 3 would probably have been due to play a team that did

Not sure what the alternative is, if you need to fit qualifiers in for the major tournaments.

Considering every Premier League side will have 3 players on international duty, that is exactly what an international break is.

Not this one

We desperately need it, both the team and the fans.

Leave it up to the teams to decide if they prefer to play or not.

Never been so happy to see an international break. Finding it hard at the moment to see us getting anything much from the rest of the season other than a win at home to Cardiff. I'm just hoping we can win that and scrape a draw at Bournemouth and that Cardiff can't get 7 points from their remaining fixtures.

Happy to see this break, dont like them as a whole but we need this one to regroup and sort out our all to predictable play, we need the rest, i cant see Tarkowski lining up for england after his performance on Saturday, thought he was responsible for both goals, his stupid foul on the edge of the box and his poor marking on Wes Morgan lost us the game, just my own opinion guys.

Yes!!!!! Total agreement and no argument here. While we're at it let's pull out of the dodgy world cup in Qatar and see if the other major nations want to organise a proper world cup instead - in the Summer.

All international football should be out of the league season. Club football is the bread and butter. International football is a joke with the number of players swapping nationality.
Germany won the World Cup with Klose and Podolski up front, both Polish born.

And if you brought that rule in with over three players, all Premier League games would be called off in any case.
