More good Economic news ...

Post by Clarets4me » Tue Mar 19, 2019 7:12 pm

Unemployment rate down to 3.9%, the lowest rate since 1975 ... the 76.1% employment rate is the highest since records began in 1971, and average wages ( not including bonus's ) have increased by more than inflation for the 10th successive month ....

Minimum wage is set to rise to £8.21 from 5th April , so some good news all round ..

The dolies on TV last night had cans, barbecues, fags and expensive tattoos. They were shown at the foodbanks.
Clearly not all of them like this but what a mess.

Pity wages were lower 3 months ago than in 2008, statistics are just like a bikini, they show a lot but hide the important bits. We are less productive than the 1980’s per individual so it shows it’s cheaper to pay low wages than invest in automation, we will be going back to sticking kids up chimneys & saying we have the best chimneys since Dickens times.

The government gets to pick the best looking figures from a selection of employment data.
Look around you and tell me If you can feel the wealth and satisfaction that comes from people benefiting from well paying jobs.

People can't be mad about EU migrants taking all the jobs on one hand and at the same time praising how little unemployment there is. You're being lied to and lying to yourself.

The way they count "employed" is certainly odd. I've had several periods of unemployment since 2012, and never claimed benefits, so I've been classed as "employed" during those periods. What they mean is the number of people not claiming benefits is down, and considering how many hurdles are put in the way of people claiming, and the very small sums you get as a result, then this isn't surprising.

"May 2016 - government via the treasury claims a Leave vote would lead to upto 820,000 extra joining the unemployment ranks." From the treasury's own website.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/brit ... ysis-shows" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This was claimed by Remoaners to be clear evidence that brexit would be disastrous for the UK

This is how Full Fact the independent charity, saw the evidence

Claim

"Before the EU referendum George Osborne claimed up to 820,000 jobs could be lost within two years if Britain chose to leave.

Conclusion

Correct. Mr Osborne did claim this. He was referring to Treasury analysis which said the worst case scenario following a leave vote could increase the number of unemployed people by 820,000."

https://fullfact.org/economy/whats-happ ... -leave-eu/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Today, we have record levels of employment. At the very point at which what was previously called EVIDENCE that a vote to Leave would be disastrous, claimed we'd have upto an extra 820,00!!

When I've pointed out that the evidence turned out to be bare faced lies after they failed to materialise.

The glib response that tried to brush reality under the carpet was. "Er , that was never evidence or, promises. They were simply predictions . They were forecasts that have yet to come to fruition!

Question - when does evidence morph into forecasts or predictions?

Answer - when the passage of time shows them to be embarrassing lies.

Lies now being told again by the very same people (treasury) and being gleefully swallowed by the very same gullible fools who , once again claim to have found new evidence that brexit will have a negative impact on the uk.

Question - when are forecasts assumption and predictions, once again, being claimed to be evidence that brexit will have a negative impact on the uk?

Answer - before the event has actually taken place and time has proven them to be lies

Question - if we do Leave and history repeats itself and the evidence is shown to be lies again. What will the mugs who perpetuated and believed those lies call them?

Answer - they'll call them , forecasts and assumptions that simply haven't materialised. Or forecasts that have yet to come to fruition!

If, which is looking more likely , we don't actually leave. It means that certain Remoaners will claim to have had evidence for an event that never actually happened!

You really couldn't make it up!

Actually it did state the increased number of people in work attributed to 2/3 in full time employment and 1/3 on zero hour contracts but who were employed

So the 1/3 could be employed anything from one hour upwards but not quantified, however it has been a trend for a while now in the unemployment is trending down, which definitely a contradiction to the statements made over the last two years regarding number of people being out of work due to the Brexit leave vote.

Just one of many claims made by certain so called experts, and yes I agree many claims that certain areas would benefit after the leave vote have also not come to fruition, moral of the whole story is stop believing in experts and try to think for yourselves on what facts there are, you have more than an even chance of being your expert.

Ironic really as the whole “ carer” thing is the biggest scammed misused and abused allowance in history . While there are many genuine carers the workshy and underclass simply use it as a top up for their dole looking after fat parents

Pray tell , which Elysian utopia are you comparing us too?
The lowest min wage is about to be over £8 there’s endless jobs and as for “ rip off” Britain you’d be pushed in most of the EU to match prices /lifestyle etc . As for the “ boneheads you come across nowadays” was it the 17.4 million or the 16.1 million ? Who really should t have the vote

Needless to say, the story about the best public sector borrowing figures for 17 years has been removed from both the BBC & Guardian web-sites, the BBC still holding on to yesterday's inflation news " forcing up prices " and " 1st increase for 11 months " . They're hiding the fact that it's by 0.1%, and last month's figure was a 2 year low.

No mention that most economic analysts and forecasters consider that the major threat to Business & the economy over the next two -five years, is not Brexit, but a Labour Government under Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell !
