I doubt there is anything Crewe can do about it. They're being sued; their only options are (i) to pay up the many millions it will cost if they lose; or (ii) to follow the instructions of their liability insurers. As they don't have the many millions, they have to do as they're told.

Crewe continue to act appallingly - about time someone shut them down until they are prepared to at least accept what went on at their club. I know Man City have lots of money and can afford to pay the compensation as they promised last week, but the antics at Crewe are nothing short of a disgrace.

It does stink.

I can't believe that a certain ex manager there hasn't been asked questions properly as of yet

He was suspended from all football by the FA in December 2016 and remains so. Crewe still list him as their director of football.

Getting off lightly springs to mind

Hiding behind the technicalities of the law is just not good enough when allegations are made as serious as this. They should be doing everything they can to seek justice for victims who were entrusted into the club's care. They failed those boys massively and are doing so again.

Good and about time.

However, the fact they're refusing to offer any sort of apology is disgusting.

Dario Gradi the name that people seem to be oddly omitting when talking about a “ certain ex manager “

Crewe are potless and in fairness to the current staff right through the club it’s not really their fight . This is the legal people doing their worst .

See the Man City response -

Whilst most would agree Crewe can't afford to offer much in the way of financial compensation and the current staff aren't to blame in the majority, City took a different approach and are to be commended for it.

Whereas Chelsea tried to silence the victims from their club.

As a local I’m aware of his “alleged” annual parties, at which local aspiring under 16 Crewe players attended. He allegedly hosted parties at his home with young players, bbqs, music, games stations, football, and sleepovers. I must add, allegedly. The young lads always spoke highly of him and his involvement with their football. I’m pretty sure that no parents were allowed as it was “team bonding”. My boys were released and quit so were never invited. School mates went though.
