Set it up in her name, she goes down you get the cash, then vanish before she is released

Sacrificing 2 years of your life never to work again and be very comfortable for the rest of your life, yes please.
I'd put the 2 years inside to good use too, get healthy and fit, whilst doing a few courses to sharpen up my knowledge. Id also researching all the destinations I'll be visiting once a free man.

Re: Be careful
Cant blame pubs or anyone else for that matter, the extortionate fees that sky, bt and the like charge is a joke, pubs need to get punters in to make ends meet and if these company's charge so much they deserve to be challenged, we all know its a risky business to watch illegal streams and if caught would lead to prosecution, but until these greedy companies lower their prices considerably, illegal streams will continue and make the providers rich, a very risky thing to do, but if they dont get caught the spoils are enormous. I should think these lads who were caught wernt careful enough and they wont be seeing any of their ill gotten gains, nice try though.

Keep your nut down get a job, improve your pool and table tennis skills and you'll be out in no time.
You'd live a better life than 25% of Burnley does on the outside.
Small price to pay

Working hard for 50 years in this country isn't all its cracked upto be. We will find that out when in our hour of need, or when it's too late.

If somebody said to work away in another country for 2 years at a million a year, most people would jump at the chance. I’d sacrifice a couple of years for a couple of million to then see out the rest of my days comfortably.

those extortionate fees are what is used to pay our club and all the other clubs for the TV rights to show the games. Without those extortionate fees we wouldn't have the income we currently have and it would be unlikely that we would be in the Premier League at all, and if we were without the money we would never have a chance of staying up.moaninclaret wrote:Cant blame pubs or anyone else for that matter, the extortionate fees that sky, bt and the like charge is a joke...

But then so many other clubs would also not have that money - players wages would come down across the board with 95% of clubs and football would carry on. Just with less money, teams would probably have to try harder to utilise local talent and put more effort into scouting etc .....Rick_Muller wrote:those extortionate fees are what is used to pay our club and all the other clubs for the TV rights to show the games. Jeez, some of you must live pretty unrewarding lives to be willing to sacrifice 2 years away from your families and without freedom for £1.7m. I'm not sure how comfortably I'd be able to live off that amount for the rest of my life either.

Balls to that!
Sentences seem very heavy. And that can only be because of how much they have made.
When you put that into context that people have killed or raped and got less, it shows where the powers that be's priorities lie!

Let's say you buy 17 £100,000 hoses and rent them out at £100 a week, ( minimum figures ) I'd like to think I could live off 1,700 a week for not lifting a finger. I'd also have the insurance of 1.7m in property to fall back on in my later years.
Re: Be careful
17 properties at 100,000 can see where you are coming from but.... try finding decent Tenants as 17 proprties = 17 huge repair bills when your Tenants do a midnight flit leaving the places wrecked...MACCA wrote:Let's say you buy 17 £100,000 hoses and rent them out at £100 a week, ( minimum figures ) I'd like to think I could live off 1,700 a week for not lifting a finger. When I was still being a slave to the work ethic, I was working with a number of Landlords doing lock changes and repairs... I could tell you tales of some absolute shitholes left empty and owing £1000's in back rent.
I've seen grown men in tears at the devastation of their properties.
I decided early on I wouldn't be investing my hard earned in the property to let sector....

40 to 45 percent of that would be taxed. Then you would need to insure and maintain them.MACCA wrote:Let's say you buy 17 £100,000 hoses and rent them out at £100 a week, ( minimum figures ) I'd like to think I could live off 1,700 a week for not lifting a finger. And this is taking into consideration that you put that 2m to one side in the first place.

Sentences for financial crime or ridiculous things like chopping down a protected tree always far more severe than violent crimes against people. Surely that is far worse than what these have done, but clearly not in terms of sentences, ridiculous.

2m at 3% , capital protected by the FSCS by splitting it into a number of 85k deposits with different institutions, will earn you 60k/year interest less the 20% tax you'd pay on 59k of it. 48,200 after tax per year.
96,400 in interest alone sat waiting for you on release after two years.
I'm sure I could manage 2 years all inclusive at her majesty's pleasure if I were able to keep hold of the 2m.
