Will Raheem be a legend !

Post by Bfcboyo » Fri Mar 22, 2019 9:53 pm

Has took a lot of grief , will he end up our legend over the next decade. His potential if he can do it for country makes him our best player , has the time come for him to deliver.
He needed that confidence boost tonight at international level and it was great to see how much it meant to him. Hopedully the haters who didn't like how he ran will take him in their mindless souls!

Has been outstanding at club level for some time now. Partly because of the belief Guardiola has shown in him. (The exact opposite of what he did with Hart).

He knows he is under zero pressure with England because it doesn't matter. Because he is a key player for one of the worlds best teams under one of the worlds best managers. But that will only help. Added to the fact Southgate is the perfect England manager especially for this young side.

If he can step up for England in the same way he has for City he will become a great. Things are looking good for England, especially up top. And have ever since Southgate came in.

It is a nice distraction from my worries at the Turf presently.

He's deserved some of the grief he's got for stuff he's done off the pitch and not making the best of his talent but in the last 12-18 months he's really matured as a player. I guess it may be the Pep influence or maybe playing with a very good set of players regularly but his decision making and coolness of thought have developed hugely.
Yes- he will probably become an England mainstay/legend, he's still only 24 and plenty of England success ahead for him.

A hugely impressive interview on SSN just now.

Humility in abundance and a very moving tribute to the young lad that passed away

I can not get out of my mind the grief we give Sterling when he visited the Turf with Man -City after the Euro's ,we ripped him to pieces ....it was not nice, now we have Burnley fans giving him plaudits....make up your mind "he let his country down" "Will he be a legend

He was given a real hard time at such a young age across the premiere league grounds a couple of years ago for not delivering for England. He cannot be used to that pressure from his own supporters at club level. I think it affected his performances for England.

I think tonight will be massive for him .

He’s a very good player.

There’s always talk of Hazard being this so called world class superstar and Raheem being overrated. Yet Raheem has out shown him the past few years. He really has been superb for City since Pep came in.

Doing the sign of the cross and then pointing to the sky after he's scored, means he probably won't be a legend.

His game has improved for sure, Pep must take a lot of credit for that. I can see one of the two big Spanish clubs knocking on his door very soon.

Absolutely world class footballer. Versatile, incredibly talented and has a top class mentality.

Shame for him Van Dijk has been so good this season, he’s definitely second in line for Premier League Player of the Season.

Anyone who still doubts his ability is living in cloud cuckoo land. Only Kane is comparable in terms of English players.

I didn't give him grief on the Turf. Fair enough.

If the time comes when giving grief to the opposition in a sporting manner is unacceptable, I'm off. End of competition and hope for the smaller club.

What stuff specifically?

I assume we're not including such terrible crimes as buying his mum a house (I know a few of the papers weren't keen on that).

An entertaining article in the Sun today blaming the fans for Sterling not getting the recognition he deserves. Definitely nothing to do with their coverage over the years.

Where do I start!!!!

First of all. He left Liverpool, who never win anything, to go to all conquering Man City.......with a huge pay . Disgusting!

He flaunted his wealth by buying his mum a very nice house. Disgusting.

Despite his wealth, the cheap skate bought his Mrs clothes from Primark. Disgusting.

Also despite his wealth he bought food at McDonalds instead of some swanky restaurant. Disgusting.

He had a tattoo on his leg. Disgusting.

He's a superb little player and seems a very nice lad to boot.

The rags who targeted him over the last few years should be ashamed of themselves, as should the mindless cretins all over the country who followed their lead and abused him whenever they got the chance.

I don't suppose any of that is technically wrong...

But having read it and tried my best to remember these particular moments from Raheems past, it's not quite as cut and dried as that is it? He's been a ****, and he's probably had more abuse than he's deserved, but lets not re-write history and turn him into St. Raheem.

I hope so. It means we will have produced yet another world class footballer and hopefully win something. 're his money any youngster with that wealth and protection from the real world will always get some bad press.

Nobody is saying he’s a saint but I can’t recall anything that he’s done like that’s genuinely made me think he’s a **** (whichever 4 letter word you’ve chosen).

People in this country also like to hate their own and hate the succesful. Especially young, rich and famous.

Its why they hate people like ronaldo. Inferiority complex.
