Let's hope Robbie Brady gets 90 minutes under his belt and pushing nearer to full fitness. He may be an important player for us before the season draws to a close.

There has been talk of a tennis ball throwing protest against the corrupt Irish FA.
Please guys keep your balls off the pitch.

This is getting ridiculous.
Tarkowski & Heaton plus recent old boys Tripps & Keane in the England squad.
Loving it and long may it continue :)

Ref gives FK against Brady for an elbow to the jaw. No booking, it looked? accidental but surely it’s a red, yellow or play on?

Hendrick has goal disallowed for offside. Clearly no defenders back but pass could have been square and not forward.

I’m at Gibraltar v Estonia tonight and everyone is on about how well they contained Ireland at the weekend.

Tickets are FREE too - amazing when we are used to getting fleeced in the U.K. - but there is a gale force wind and it’s on the seafront and cold.

Estonia just scored - cross blown in by the wind.

73mins Brady subbed to good applause. Much better than we’ve seen recently.

Probably helps that's he's being played in his natural position.

It's irrelevant what direction the ball went in.

I don’t think that’s true, I think (May be wrong of course) that the rule states when the ball is played forwards - so sideways or backwards is ok...

A player cannot be offside unless he is in front of the ball at the moment it is kicked. The rule doesn't say anything about which way the ball is kicked, only where the man is standing.

Obviously if the ball is played backwards and you are in front of it, you would need to come back to get it, but you can still be offside.

Like Rick I always thought the ball had to go forwards but I've just looked at the rules and dsr is right. Did they change them at some point or has that always been the rule?

Hendrick played as good as I've ever seen him. Direct, passing forward at every chance and wanted to do things himself.
Maybe Mick Ms direct style gets the best out of him?

Hopefully this is the way he will play on Saturday if selected.

I think it's always been the rule, but as players are hardly ever in front of the ball when it is played backwards it rarely comes up.

With JBG looking doubtful he simply has to start right midfield. Too good to leave out of the current starting 11

I’ll rephrase it then. He looked level with the ball that was played square to him.

If he was level with the ball, then he wasn't offside under the old rules; under the new VAR rules, of course, there is no "level" so he could only be in front or behind. Which rules were they using for this game?

Not positive but there have been some dreadful decisions across Europe and I haven’t seen VAR used once. I’m guessing this tournament isn’t using it.

How many more points did England get for winning 5-1 as opposed to Irealnd's 1-0? Results are what matters --- and that is all.

The point I’m trying to make is Jeff wasn’t playing against any world beaters. They only managed to beat Gibraltar 1-0!

I thought Hendricks touch was excellent, but he looked knackered to me for the last 20 mins. I dont know about Dyche fit, but our super fit squad have looked anything but this season. I hope he's ok for Saturday, and Brady too. We need to up the energy levels if we want to live with Wolves.

Maybe because this season, more than ever, the team spend a lot of the game chasing the ball and we have the oldest squad in the Division.

On the subject of Hendrick’s disallowed goal. Difficult to ascertain from the pictures I saw but there is every chance it was a wrong call.

VAR not in use in these games.

He certainly did but he deserved to, he’d covered every blade of grass twice over. He said after the Gibraltar game that McCarthy had asked him to get in the box more and did he try to.

Really good night in Lansdowne I must say a real buzz in the ground . Brady did well and Jeff had one of his better games but MOTM McGoldrick was really top class , poor lad was on his knees when he went off the crowd loved him I must say .

Spot on about McGoldrick but it’s still the problem. Obafemi still has some improving to do and I can’t see anybody else coming through who is anywhere near the standard required.

Just glad to see both Hendrick and Brady get some game time.

We are going to need them if we are to stay up.
