Free Solo

Post by The Enclosure » Tue Mar 26, 2019 9:11 pm

If you are scared of exposed heights then you must watch this new film documentary called Free Solo .of an American free style rock climber called Alex Honnold.
It tells the story of how he was the first person to free climb a vertical rock face 2900 feet high in the Yosemitie National park called El Capitan
This guy is incredible, all he had was his rubber climbing shoes and a chalk bag to keep his hands dry.
The film won a Bafta and an Academy award .Well worth watching,it is on Showbox.

You’re about 38 years too late mate. The Empire Strikes Back was 1981.

Spoiler- he gets freed in the next film.

Caldwell is a close friend of Honnold and they have climbed a lot together.

There is another documentary with these guys, where, unbelievably, Alex tells of how they reshot some of the footage the day after, on a sheer face 3000 feet high, and he was saying how easy it was.
He was holding on with one finger, standing on a ledge that was around 1 centimetre wide. Just unbelievable.
I think its called tight lines.

Tight rectums would be more apt.

Couldn't stop once I started watching it, despite the vertigo inducing camera work.
