Enjoyed that brought a lot of memories back for me about Lucas in general. My mum worked for them and as a kid I benefited from their staff activities with their Christmas party at the ‘Cats Whiskers/Mecca no less and their summer party at Reedley. Friends of mine were apprentices and that set them in good stead for their future. The social club near the bus station was a great place to go when I got older. The company played a big part in Burnley life for a long period and part of a long gone industrial heritage.
