Heaton 6- Little to do but marshalled the back four well as always
Bardsley 6-Average at best.
Tarkowski 8-Excellent second half after an iffy start.
Mee 8-Had a good match
Taylor 6-Taken to the 'cleaners' too easily for my liking. Admit he didn't get too much support.
Hendrick 6-Typical Hendrick performance.
Westwood 8*-My MOTM
Cork 7-Covered a lot of ground but physically lacking at times.
McNeil 7-Took his goal brilliantly, worthy of the admission money alone.
Barnes 5-Goes down far too easily and Ref's aren't buying it Ash.
Wood 7-Link play very good and held the ball up well.

Not pretty, but we defended really well and managed to take 3 massive points. A win against Cardiff in 2 weeks time should see us safe.

Not many prisoners out there today. Wolves had one eye on next weeks semi against Watford so it was most likely a good time to play them.

Heaton 7
Bardsley 7
Tarkowski 8 Immense today.
Mee 7
Taylor 8 Charlie is turning into an excellent left sided player.
Hendrick 7
Westwood 8* MOM. He's having a great season.
Cork 5 Not at the races unfortunately.
McNeil 7 I was shouting to have him subbed when he scored. Just shows what I know :o
Barnes 6
Wood 7 Smart movement for the early goal.

Taylor played well enough but it's baffling that some people have rated his performance higher than Mee and Tarkowski's.

Probably because he had a lot more to handle than either Mee or Tarks. Traore was a handful, and unsurprisingly did him for pace, yet he did so well to limit him. Takes and Mee were excellent, but due to Taylor had a lot less to deal with.

I thought Taylor was torn a new one by Traore. His one-footedness meant he had to stay really narrow so Traore had the freedom of the park to get past him on the outside. It's a good job he can't cross a ball.

The fact that Traroe gave Taylor a hard time at times should tell you how well Mee in particular did.

He was staying narrow because that's the way we defend. It hasn't changed in the last 300 games and it's nothing to do with Taylor being wrong footed, it's to do with keeping the back four compact.

Heaton 7 Very little to do in all honesty
Bardsley 7 Part of a good defensive display
Tarkowski 8 Grew into the game and dominated eventually
Mee 8 A Ben Mee like performance
Taylor 8 Stuck to his task all afternoon and is a real player
Hendrick 6 Hardly involved with the ball but as a 4 in midfield kept battling
Cork 7 A better game by Jack
Westwood 8* Keeps us ticking along and really relishes the battle
McNeill 8 A wonderful free kick and even better goal but I think he needs to close down quicker when we lose the ball
Barnes 7 A handful but frustrating when he keeps falling over.
Wood 8 A good game and ran the channels really well

Traore is too quick for his own brain. Charlie Taylor stuck to the task well and didn't do anything rash.

Heaton - 7 safe hands when called upon which was hardly at all

Bardsley- 7 fine

Tarkowski - 8 too casual early on but after that dealt with everything comfortably

Mee - 7 solid as ever

Taylor - 8 excellent again, did exactly the right thing against traore - stand him up and let him cross it because apart from bring quick, he's w@nk.

Cork - 6

Westwood- 7

Hendrick- 7 really disciplined performance which was what we needed

McNeil - 7 lovely assist and lovely goal. Still very much learning but he's doing it quickly.

Barnes - 5 hustle, bustle, not much else

Wood - 7 better than he has been, still too lightweight for a big dude but he was a threat and forced the own goal with a great run

Early goal was imperative as it was always going to be easy for us then to let wolves play in front of us. A fairly dull game overall but it's points that count right now and these 3 are very welcome. Getting back to what we do best, just need to add a bit more going forward.

Heaton : 7 - nowt much to do
Bardsley : 6 - ditto. The ball was mostly on the other side. Defended well when he had to but we really do miss Lowton’s quality going forward...and Wood misses this more than most.
Mee : 8 - putting his body in the way of everything like he does best
Tarks : 8 - very good game and cut out the silly passing and lapses in concentration
Taylor : 6 - struggled to cope with Traore but did well to keep on going and made sure he did not let him run inside too often. Those saying he was tore a strip by Traore are missing that there was no end product and the way we played him he never got anywhere near our goal. Running very fast is all well and good but it’s not the olympics - you need to have a destination !
Westwood : 8 - really good game
Cork : 6 - not as bad as game as some are saying as he broke up a lot of their play with his tenacity. But he is struggling with confidence - seems to do something really good like win the ball and then follow it up straight away with a mistake.
Hendrick : 6 - not his best game.
McNeil : 8 (mom) - out on his feet at end but great free kick for first and his goal was pure class. That will be one of my fave goals on the turf. McNeil has been the highlight of this season by a mile.
Wood : 6 - little change out of their centre backs to be honest but good movement for first and some nice touches when he did get it to feet.
Barnes : 6 - battled really well against a very tough opponent in Boli...had a thankless task really with the balls we were playing into him but he battled on and again a few nice touches when we kept it on the floor.

Wolves good team but we massively benefited from them resting Jiminez who is an excellent player. They had no focal point because of that and it just showed how much they have relied on him this year. Not only is he a target man he is very good at running the channels and has great feet. Definitely a couple of levels up from our forwards.

Heaton 7- one camera save apart not a great deal to do commanded area apart from one bad kick.
Bardsley 7- tenacious kept jota pretty quiet.
Mee 7- great block late on.
Tarkowski 7- as mee and showed defensive strength.
Taylor 7- traore had him worried but kept at it. Gained confidence as game went on.
Cork 6- not his fluent best this season.
Westwood 8- used ball well got up and down and side to side. Workhorse and most improved player for me this season.
Hendrick 6- steady
Barnes 7-got nothing from referee, even when blatantly thrown to floor for penalty in first half. Defended from the front.
Wood 6- better awareness of defensive line. Needs to get himself in to game a little more though.
McNeil 7- had a relatively quiet game but assist and tremendous finish show this lad is destined for bright things.

Taylor has to play narrow when defending as team instructions. He did well to limit Traore to running down the wing as he is famous for being awful at crossing.
If he let him cut inside it could of been a different story with a lucky shot etc

Heaton: 6 - Not much to do, did what he had to well, protected by those infront
Bardsley: 7 - Did the ugly stuff well
Tarkowski: 8 - Thought this was his best game in a while, no hollywood stuff, basics!
Mee: 8 - Steady and assured
Taylor: 8 - Gets better, rough afternoon with Traore's pace but had a good game
Hendrick: 7 - Was superb off the ball, not great on it but the criticism he gets is a joke!
Cork: 6 - Lightweight and slow, works hard but really lacking in our midfield bite
Westwood: 9 MOM - What a player, love how he is always finding space and looking for the ball
McNeil: 8 - Clever free kick and wonderful finish
Barnes: 6 - Worked off scraps, did the ugly stuff
Wood: 7 - See Barnes, plus 1 for the goal

Not the best display but as Dyche has said, we did the basics and ugly stuff really well. Couldn't care less about performances at this stage of the season, points on the board are what we need and we beat Wolves without our goal being directly threatened. Job done, onto the next

Taylor is a funny one because his general play was very good but he really struggled with Traore’s pace.
who wouldn't struggle with Traores pace- the guy is a freak...........
