Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
And with Brighton to play Cardiff at home that could make our life a bit easier as well.
Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Southampton’s last 2 games are West Ham and Huddersfield which makes them safe I think.
Brighton have some tough fixtures (city, Chelsea, Spurs, Wolves away) but they have Cardiff and Bournemouth to play at home.

Going to be an exciting end to the season alright.......hopefully it won't involve us.

Think the 3 down there now look doomed, possibly Brighton with a bit of luck. Did not see us winning today. Hopefully that should give us the platform we need for another season now. Just hope we finally put relegation to bed asap now.

Praying Brighton go down horrible plastic club .
Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
They still are above us and have games in hand
Would rather be in their position than ours
Cardiff will still be the deciding game, whatever happens to the rest of the teams

Whilst we’re talking about trying to beat Cardiff, I’d the Bluebirds defeat Brighton, then they really could be in trouble!

Not over by a long shot. Still glad to be looking down at Cardiff rather than the other way around
Quick glance at Cardiff forum, a few seeing the games against us and Brighton as a cup run. Lose either and their down.
Still they have Fulham away and Palace at home final day who could be on the beach.

Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
They only have 3 games at home, Chelsea, Liverpool and Palace and if they lose today-all games big ifs at this stage we just need to equal or better their results each Saturday if possible. And as Sean has pointed out 21 points from the last 13 games is a good return; just hoping we can get another 6 points soon to be sure

Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Looked at both of their games a while back and thought Brighton could be in trouble, Southampton I always expected to be safe because of their run in, Brighton need to beat Cardiff as we do, although top teams will have a big say, as there is always a freak result here and their at this stage, but all things considered Brighton certainly not safe yet. Yesterday was huge for us, point next week and beat Cardiff and it's sealed for us I'd say but hey one game at a time.

Brighton, as well as cup on the weekend, have Chelsea away, this Wednesday....weakened team?
Fall behind again, owing to cup.
Bournemouth home...poss 3 pts
Cardiff home...
Wolves away
Spurs away
Newcastle home
Arsenal away
Man City home
Oh dear them!

Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Can I be honest here?
We don't want Cardiff to get the points versus anyone do we?
We beat them and they lose to Brighton, and they are down.
Which means we are not, and with a bit of time to spare.
Sure, we can wish Brighton down, but not so Cardiff stay in touch.

The remaining relegation slot is between us and Cardiff, no other teams need to worry.

Depends on what Brighton and Southampton do with their game(s) in hand - lose them and they are in exactly the same sh*t as us, just 5 points clear with 6 to play!boatshed bill wrote:The remaining relegation slot is between us and Cardiff, no other teams need to worry.

Southampton are at home to Liverpool on Friday night.
If they lose, it gives our boys a boost going into Saturdays game.
There are going to be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season....... exciting innit ....

I'd love to see Brighton go down (I still remember putting money in their bloody buckets) but so long as we stay up I don't give two shits who is below us.

Brighton fans are in as much panic as many on here have been if their board is anything to go by - the threads after yester match ours against Leicester in vitriol for the manager

I'd prefer Brighton to drop as they will have a bigger budget in the summer than Cardiff

Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Cardiff's owner isn't skint either. Both clubs would have within a few million of us in prize money for this season and guaranteed income for 2019/2020 but with the advantage of owners with big wallets in shallow pockets and having long arms which is the opposite of our ownership and board.
Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
Brighton and Southampton get penalties. Us and Cardiff don’t. That’ll be worth another few points by the end of the season.
PS - I’d love to know where Palace would be without their penalties. Another one yesterday, given at a crucial time and fairly soft (I.e, we’d never get it)

Re: Brighton & Southampton still not out of it either
We need to add ourselves to Brighton and Southampton still not out of it.
But I do think 3 possibly 4 more points for us will be enough.
Whereas Cardiff might need at least 8 possibly 9 or more points.
It shouldn't be beneath us to think we'll get those 3/4 points without
breaking into serious sweating.
Whereas Cardiff will struggle to get 8/9 points.
And Brighton could still be dragged down into it especially as they've got to play
7 times in April, twice a week.

It certainly is. And as daft as it sounds, id rather this than a boring 12th place finish. At least f we don't take the cups seriously that is!Bosscat wrote:Southampton are at home to Liverpool on Friday night.

Many see Newcastle with a better team & manager than us yet they are still only two points ahead of us.cricketfieldclarets wrote:It certainly is. And as daft as it sounds, id rather this than a boring 12th place finish. At least f we don't take the cups seriously that is!
Can't be that much better.

Bet Brighton are wishing they’d dropped out of the cup earlier.
