Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
Thought he might just provide the key to unlock our defense, and then he went off! Great!
I don't know who was more relieved... me or Charlie Taylor !!!

And pretty much every cross he delivered was more likely to go out for a thrown-in over the other side of the pitch than result in a Wolves player getting his head on the ball.corporal jones wrote:The fact that no one could get on the end was just good fortune for us.
Probably why he'll be a mid-table PL player, nothing more.

Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
Actually the Brazilian highlights posted elsewhere will probably give a more balanced picture, as they show loads more snippets than MOTD will. Although a few of Traore’s crosses were over hit , at least three were bang on the money...

Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
I commented early on how our tactics were perfect today against Traore.
Taylor played further up the pitch which made his burst of pace redundant for a lot of the match. Mee covered in at LB meaning even when Traire could make a burst..... he had to cover Taylor which pushed him further back.
The only real joy he had was when he cut inside early and ran at us but even that is something he couldn’t do consistently as he’d leave the left side of the pitch open for us to exploit.
He is rapid but we just had tactics spot on against him today.

A good jota effort all traores work. Then a wicked ball after skinning us down the left but Tarks well blocked.
Coyld do with his pace and trickery.

Not sure what's wrong with that. He has fantastic physical attributes but can't play a simple pass. In football that's known as having "no brain". Problem?tim_noone wrote:"Absolutely no footballing Brain" I've Heard everything on here now...
Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
On the other hand, someone who gets into space and plays bad passes into the area can still be dangerous - as per Cardiff's goal yesterday. That was a rotten pass but was lucky enough to find his own man. Traore's replacement did not get space and did not play it into the area at all, as far as I remember.
Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
He's very similar to Aaron Lennon in his prime. Very good at beating players but struggles with his crossing.

No problem...though "can't play a simple pass" is wide of the mark. I go with post 54 as nearer the mark tbh. I was glad to see him subbed.boyyanno wrote:Not sure what's wrong with that. Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
II'm sure SD knew before kick off Traore is much quicker than anyone in our squad.
Charlie Taylor showed him where to run nearly every time and stuck to the plan. There aren't many, if any, full backs that could match Traore for pace. Possibly Walker but that's why he plays for Man City.

Re: Why did Nuno take off Traore
I’d have him like a shot. Even if only to stick on the half way line when we are under the cosh holding onto a 1-0. The way we folded against Man U was cos they had 11 players committed to going forwards.

Would you prefer "choses not to play a simple pass"? You could make the argument for either but both add up to the same thing in my opinion. A quick Google will show you he has 1 assist and 1 goal this season. That is very poor when you consider the attributes he does have.tim_noone wrote:No problem...though "can't play a simple pass" is wide of the mark. I go with post 54 as nearer the mark tbh.
