Games in hand or points on the board.....
Would you swap Cardiffs two games in hand for our 5 point and 8 goal advantage?

Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
Without doubt our position. Today has made the home game vs Cardiff a “not lose” match rather than a “must win”.
They have to play Chelsea & Man City before they come to the turf, so there’s every chance they will still be on 28 when they play us, so pick up 3pts vs them I think we would be safe.
A point next week vs Bournemouth wouldn’t be the worse thing either.
It’s up to us for sure

Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
No nay never.
5 point gap. Their two games in hand against the last two champions. And the following game away to us.
We are nowhere near safe. BUT in a highly highly unlikely scenario, the best case for them when they meet us is being 1 point ahead of us.

Chelsea and City, isn't it? L'pool and ManU also in their remaining games.
Yes, we've also got Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Everton in our last 6.
Points on the board every time.

If you’re chasing the title, games in hand. If you’re in our position, points on the board, all day long.

Cardiff wont winagain
Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
From Cardiff’s perspective today was a shocker for them. Both us and Southampton winning was the last thing they wanted. Puts pressure on them before their game tomorrow. Having said that I have a suspicion that Chelsea have downed tools for the season.

they are chasing top four ? how have they downed tools ??? They battered Everton last time out, should have been 4 up at half time and then somehow lost.Foulthrow wrote:From Cardiff’s perspective today was a shocker for them. Hopefully Hudson-Odoi will get a chance to play as he'll want to continue his good form for England.Foulthrow wrote:Having said that I have a suspicion that Chelsea have downed tools for the season.

Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
Points on the board always, goal difference helps as well, effectively Cardiff are 2 wins behind us with games fast running out.
Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
Points even at the top.
Those games in hand come thick and fast, at the end of a long season. Many a title challenger has fallen...inc us in 1961!
Cardiff are playing today..Chelsea..Wed. Man City...Sat...MIGHTY CLARETS in a 6 pointer. No leading goalscorer...doomed.

Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
Considering Cardiff’s games in hand are against Chelsea & Man City and they have both top scorer & a central defender, that is handy in both goal areas, out then I’d say advantage us.
Re: Games in hand or points on the board.....
So if they lose their next two games and then we beat them at the Turf. We will be 8 pts clear with a superior goal difference and 5 games left. I'll take that, points makes prizes

What a bizarre question, the options being actual points or potential points/no points.
Why would you swap 5 points for a game against Chelsea and a game against Man City?

They’ll still have a game in hand over us when we play them
