It's not racist. How is it racist? London is one of the most multicoloured cities in the world, and in the middle of it is a demonstration about something that is supposed to be entirely disconnected from race and yet all he sees is a sea of white people. Now maybe that observation upset you and that's perfectly fine, but no racism is happening when he says it.

Funny how the anti-PC brigade can get very PC when it's their feelings being hurt. Isn't it?

He comment that one race had a preference the white race if there is such a thing. If it was a remain demo and he said he had never seen so many black people would not be a race comment.

OK I know we need to have more of the ethnic minorities at public demonstrations, political meetings.
At least he didn't say "Older white" as that too would have been FACT but no doubt ageist
And whilst we are on about it, isn't it time we redesigned the England flag and change the white background as well as the the cross of St George as it looks too Christian

There is a perception held by some that if you voted leave, at the very least, you have racist tendencies. Whether this is true or not I don't know and it isn't really the point. What Jon Snow is doing by his comment, in a not too subtle way, is to reinforce that view.

No there isn't. The view is that those people who have racist tendencies voted leave, NOT that all leave voters have racist tendencies. There's a huge difference.

Where have you been hiding? Throughout the campaign and since the clear message from remainers is that we are basically racist and did not understand what we were doing.

Well, I mean, the guy does seem to be making the exact same arguments the Brextremists made. The only difference being, and i think this is why it's odd to you, is that he's actually making those arguments in person and on his own, and not either online, over the phone on LBC, or as part of a crowd.

He's a perfectly adequate satirisation of the working class Brexit voter.

The exact same comments were made about the pro-EU march the week before. "Oh look at all those white middle class faces!"

Whether it is racist is up for debate but it is certainly very fashionable to be remarking on "white people" these days as if it is something pejorative.

When the pro-Brexit people all remarked on the same phenomena it was a good indicator of their belief in Brexit: They remarked on it because they hoped it would show how narrow the demographic of the Remain marchers was. The same applies to Jon Snow - it demonstrates his pro-EU, anti-Brexit beliefs.

Just as when he was caught off his tits at a festival shouting "**** the Tories" it is unacceptable for a man in his role. He has become tired, staid and has lost the plot in terms of maintaining political neutrality - something which he is required to do by law.

It's time for Channel 4 to send him off into retirement or push him quietly onto some inconsequential daytime show. Watercolour Challenge, for example.
