TV help, please......
She's got her bacon butty, cuppa and lie in in, the kids are sitting silently downstairs as though they don't exist and she's plotting to go to the shops and pretend she isn't a mother for the day....
But I have a problem and I need your help please!
My Toshiba TV isn't working. I plug it in, the green standby light comes on straight away, for about 10 seconds, the screen lights up (black but there's light there). Then the red standby light comes on and TV stays lit. But nothing responds.
Tried different HDMi ports etc. Tried changing batteries on the remote but nothing but a black (but lit) screen is there. Nothing responds though. No menu, buttons on TV itself don't respond.
Can anyone help please?

New TV required. Could possibly be repaired if funds don’t allow for replacement.

We have a JVC and on occasions get sound and no picture. Sometimes it comes back, presumably after warming up, others it doesn’t but works next time you plug it in.
Have patience.
Thankfully ours is in the kitchen and we can survive without it.

Re: TV help, please......
Just try unplugging from the wall, wait a minute, then plug back in. This can clear the memory on some devices so worth a try.
Re: TV help, please......
It's a software problem, ours got sorted out by remote.Got ours from Currys so rang the Knowhow team and was told to leave it plugged in overnight,Awayfromburnley wrote:She's got her bacon butty, cuppa and lie in in, the kids are sitting silently downstairs as though they don't exist and she's plotting to go to the shops and pretend she isn't a mother for the day....

If it is still not working and you are local, I can fully recommend Geoff Hurlstone. He's on 01282 434885. I've used him twice and he's sorted out the problem and he won't rip you off.Longsidebogs wrote:Guy up duke bar called Geoff Hurlstone good and cheap for tv repairs.

I normally try pressing the source button a few times - usually find the kids have had it on a different input - Xbox, Firestick etc.....

I haven't taken it anywhere yet, thank you for all the advice.
I am not local, so apologies for not saying that at the start.
It's still broken....

I thought not, your username does tend to suggest that..( )Awayfromburnley wrote:I am not local,..
Anyway, why not give Toshiba support a ring before taking it to a repair shop?
My Toshiba started playing up the other week;came on for 10 secs or so,went off,came back on,went off,came on,went off…..repeat,repeat repeat…
Turns out it's a software issue and as I wrote earlier was told to leave it on stand by overnight and was sorted remotely and all was fine the following morning.
