Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
it feels like this one could get massive, with Warnock throwing everything at it (including dirty tricks).

Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
You could well be right, all the more reason to keep our focus, and keep our cool. If we dont start on the front foot, and they pinch an early goal.........
Our season could be so different if the first 5 and last 5 mins didn't count. We start slow, and finish nervous.

I am hoping he gets a touchline ban for his ranting about the Chelsea goal.
As much as I agree they were robbed, he must surely get some kind of punishment.

He has 10 days to prepare for it - more if he gives City a bye - we all saw how prepared they were for Chelsea - Mentally, Physically and Tactically - they will give it absolutely everything and will have a raucous following behind them - it is up to us to be ready - both crowd and team

Absolutely spot on if he does.
Works in our favour.
The more mental he gets, the worst his teams tend to play and deal with the it.

I hope he does and I hope we stuff them in a clinical, Burnleyesque performance. I hope that game showcases everything good about our style and approach to games. They have a massive week ahead of them do Cardiff and I really wish that they stay up at the expense of Brighton by beating them 3 days after our game and ultimately sending them down on the final day.

This, not many grounds in the country that back a home side like we do when it gets toxic. That side of Burnley fans is something money can’t buy. One of the only places I’ve seen the crowd literally become the infamous 12th man - Boro the other Season when Keane scores late on - the crowd built and built in noise whilst losing and you just knew the goal would be the reward. The sound/scenes when it hit the net was unreal.Tricky Trevor wrote:It would bethe worst thing he could do, tactically. For all that he is odious, he is not completely stupid. After the Chelsea fiasco yesterday, it would have been very easy for him to do a Pochettino on Pawson but he held it together. War is not a good idea for Colin and he knows it.
On the other hand, the Cardiff fans may get a little restless if it looks like we're sending them down.

A draw will be no use to Cardiff, they need to win. I think we have a better chance of beating them if they have to come at us rather than playing for a point.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Colin mentions the history With us/ Stan pre-match.

Beat Bournemouth and it takes some of the sting out the Cardiff game.
Still be funny to see Colin wound up tho.

We’ll be ok as long as we don’t give them daft free kicks, corners and throw-ins
Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
It'll be a tough game that could go either way albeit if we win then Cardiff are virtually
certain to go down unless they can manage to win 3 of their last 5 games.
A draw might be enough for us if we can pick up a few points elsewhere.

Aye, if we beat Bournemouth we probably are no longer their main target for relegation.
But we need a win and a couple of draws to be sure, and if that win is v Cardiff we might not even need that.

Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
As much as I mutually dislike Colin, I remember a game on the turf (maybe sheffield united) when one of their players didn't give the ball back after we kicked it out, Colin went mad and scolded his player making him pass it back.
He's the kind of manager we hate, but would have won us over if he'd ever have come here, of course that is long gone.

Definitely untrue.TheFamilyCat wrote:A draw will be no use to Cardiff, they need to win.
Even if we get a draw at Bournemouth and then draw against Cardiff we could end up on just 35 points.
Cardiff certainly have 2 winnable games which would put them level with us, so one more draw would see them stay up.
Additionally if we take a couple of fairly heavy defeats in the last 4 games they might end up with a better GD, so I don't think a draw for Cardiff would be the end of the world for them.

Colin will go down all guns blazing , he’s a passionate manager and I for one admire his drive ( he’s 70) and pure determination . Also Colin is a High Priest in Buddhism and hopefully he’ll try and stay calm with some pre match chants and avoid the need to shovel his heart pills down as per Chelsea .

presuming their is still a 5 Points difference when we play( 6 if you count goal difference) then i believe a draw is a very good result as they are essentially still 2 Wins behind us and i think thats asking to much....................

Yes, but as I pointed out if we lose our last 4 and they pick up a couple of wins they will most likely have a superior GD.thelifeofbrian wrote:presuming their is still a 5 Points difference when we play( 6 if you count goal difference) then i believe a draw is a very good result as they are essentially still 2 Wins behind us and i think thats asking to much....................
I fully expect them to beat Fulham, and they must have very good chance of picking up points against Brighton and Palace.
Make no mistake, if we get less than 3 points at Bournemouth then a point for Cardiff at Turf Moor would probably be better for them than us.

I think this game will suit us perfectly - a side who will come at us and attack. This is what we want.

This is Burnley we're talking about, and things rarely go to plan for us.
I remain convinced that we would have beaten Leicester under Puell.

Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
Not so sure I agree with all this wanting Cardiff to stay up at Brightons expense - seen a lot of it on here. If Cardiff are to finish above Brighton they will have to be in or around our points total and with our last 4 games I don't want that. I want Cardiff pretty much down before we enter that final 4 games. Okay Brighton have a tough run-in but I want the teams below us to stay below us (Huddesfield gone and Fulham within the next couple of games probably) so Cardiff need to go to avoid any nervousness. I don't really care who goes down as long as it's not us but on balance I don't think I dislike Brighton any more than Warnock so it's a win/win for me. We mustn't forget Southampton either, or even Newcastle, neither are out of the woods just yet, in fact Southampton are very much involved in the scrap as we speak although they do have a much easier run-in.4:20 wrote:I hope he does and I hope we stuff them in a clinical, Burnleyesque performance. Quoting Houseboy.
I actually think Southampton have a hard run in because I can see Huddersfield having the regulation bump in form after being relegated and the rest of the teams they play are unpredictable.

Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
Warnock is a hard character to like, but there are some glimmers of light for fans of football. Once asked what he’d like to do before he retired, Lifelong Blades Fan Warnock said he’d like to take the Manager’s job at Hillsborough, buy a load of sh!t players for as much money as possible, get them relegated, and the move to Cornwall and die laughing.
That guy, no matter what you think of him, knows exactly what it’s like to be a Fan.

First shots fired by Warnock:
Burnley are so direct
Disappointed in Bournemouth at the weekend - they have hit a wall...we played them when they were flying
Feels they can reel both Brighton and Burnley in.

I only know one Carduffers supporter and he’s not speaking to me anymore
Re: Will Warnock go to war at Turf Moor
I'm sure Warnock and the Cardiff players know they must win this game
to give themselves a chance of staying up so no doubt they'll be well fired up.
But I think Dyche and our players also know that if we beat them we're as good as safe.
So we'll be just as fired up.
Just hope we don't conceded an early goal albeit we did that against Bournemouth
and proved we can come back.
But if Cardiff take the lead I do think it will be a different prospect for us than against Bournemouth.
We need to be on our toes for the whole 90 mins+ as one goal could
well decide the result.
Ideally I'd like us to beat them fair and square, be 3-0 up at half time and one of their players sent off.
A Wood hat trick and then Barnes to seal it in the second half.
That would have the Turf rocking, me thinks.
