Don’t know about trashed but they’ve been given notice to quit by Man City because they’ve fallen well short of maintaining the facility as required and agreed.Hipper wrote:Trashed the training ground. Where did you get this info?

A hyperbolic way to describe it perhaps but they have let the training ground fall below acceptable standards and even had the water supply cut off at one point. They have failed to take care of it.Hipper wrote:Trashed the training ground. Where did you get this info?

Not technically insolvent at all as a lot of those debts aren't due until after the year. But also as a startup they'll be raising funds - that won't be evidenced on the balance sheet.

Extended to Tuesday but buyers say their solicitor/accountant? Isn’t available until Wednesday because it’s a BH weekend.
Re: Bury : No Wages
The company taking over are now saying not enough time for due diligence ie checking books etc etc. they really must be naive.
Re: Bury : No Wages
As I stated above they are “technically “ insolvent. How can a company that’s only been going 2 years with a paid up capital of 100 pounds and a negative net worth of 190 k even be considered for this takeover. No one would provide a loan to them with that balance sheet. And even if they did it would create a new unserviceable debt situation.

Re: Bury : No Wages
The EFL have confirmed the proposed takeover of Bury is off - with the club now hours from expulsion.
The Shakers had been poised to be expelled from the EFL on Friday for failing to prove their financial viability.
But a 11th-hour takeover bid from C&N Sporting Risk ensured the club's deadline was extended to 5pm on Tuesday.
Owner Steve Dale had accepted an offer from C&N Sporting Risk but it was announced the takeover had collapsed on Monday, just over an hour before the deadline.

Re: Bury : No Wages
Bury average home attendance last season when they were promoted was 4044. Lincoln and MK who were the other promoted teams both had more than double that number. Hardly surprising they could not pay their players !

Re: Bury : No Wages
Can see ten clubs going this way over the next few years.
Dont know the solution but maybe the elite clubs will start having B teams like in Spain. Sending their youngsters to these clubs? But then as fans of these clubs would it ever be there club again.
Until the money drips down a bit more we will start seeing clubs going bang year on year.
Feel if this Birmingham or Pompey they would have been assisted more in saving the club. I think the EFL look at it and think their is already enough teams in the North West...what loss is 2 clubs.

Re: Bury : No Wages
Bury have just issued the following statement (around 40 minutes ago)
Bury Football Club would like to issue the following statement to supporters.
We understand that this is a difficult and emotional time for all supporters given the recent news regarding a potential takeover.
While the Club are working hard looking at other potential avenues with other interested parties, we would like to remind supporters that no one should gain access to inside the stadium (unless authorised).
CCTV is installed at Gigg Lane, and anyone damaging Club property or trespassing into the stadium itself will be identified and appropriately dealt with by the Police, who will have access to current and previous CCTV footage.
We would like to urge supporters to remain patient and respectful for Club property.

Yes but with Dale do you not think they realised what an almighty cock up they had made in allowing him to pass their fit and proper persons test (?) and knew they were at fault in a way. Also I dont know if it can be believed but their were strong rumours he had actually failed the test (maybe this is not news at all, not sure?)ClaretTony wrote:Couldn't be more wrong really, the league have bent over backwards much too far to try and help them. It does raise the question of a person failing the fit and proper test, but yet the sellers simply selling the club to him (or her) anyway. What actually can the league do about it apart from chucking the club out and if the buyer (in this case Dale) really isn't interested in the football at all anyway, they're not in the least bit fussed because to them all they want is the "real estate"!
