The Peel Park pitch is still used. Think it might be for schools.

Went over at about 2ish today and had a very brief conversation with an employee, he was an old chap working in the ticket office. He was the only employee that was there at that time and hes not been paid for 5 months.

Disgraceful. Really hope they pull through and it gets sorted!

Allister Campbell son is a live bidder. Passed fit and proper test with EFL today. Waiting to see if they will grant extension. Fingers crossed.

Without trawling through 9 pages, is there reason why when it takes £mil to buy the club that none of the premiere league surrounding clubs (including us) have not stepped in to help at what is a drop in t ocean?

Spending a lot of times doing interviews over the last few days for a guy who’s desperate to sell up by the deadline.

Why should we?

They ruined Man City's training ground that they let them use for free.

They paid players 8k per week in League 2

Helping them out would set a precedent for the PL clubs to bail everyone in trouble out.

Should Tesco bail out a local business that's going under?

Think everyone's worry would be if they paid the 2.7M, it'll go directly to Steve Dale to prove to the EFL that he has the finances for the next few seasons but who knows what he would do with it.

I have said on many threads before, the football bubble has to explode. if Maguire is worth 80 mil and earns lest say 500k per week, then Tarky is worth 50 mil and 250k per week. (that would be us out of the game), if Tarkey is worth 250k per week, then any Championship CB is worth 125k per week
(again forces us out of the wages even as a premiership club) Then it is easy to see why clubs who want to compete cant unless they have a billionaire backer. So Football now becomes who has the biggest backer, so expect to see more go the wall.

Nothing’s changed then. Always has been. When I first started watching football it was Everton backed by the Moores family.

Agreed i just think it is poor form that we can all sit in our ivory towers awash with millions and watch a club of good stature and football fans go to the way side. smacks of arrogance and ignorance for me.

Good stature? They cheated their way into league one and trashed a free training ground.

Other clubs can't give them money - that would probably be against all league rules for a start. Happened once when the Rotherham owner helped Derby out with money, Anton Johnson I think. It kept Derby up, at our expense, in 1983 but Rotherham also went down.

It's a competition, nothing to do with ivory towers. It would just not be right. Imagine if Man City had given Bury some money, is that fair on the other clubs in League One? No it's not. Can't happen.

And they are not a club of good stature. They've run up bills under Stewart Day because they were living way, way, way beyond their means. They might once have been a club of good stature but they are certainly not now.

There's a tweet from Jeremy Wilson at the Telegraph that reads: "Exclusive: Rory Campbell, who worked previously at West Ham, has made live bid to buy Bury. Proof of funds provided to EFL + now waiting on whether they will grant extension. He's the son of Alastair Campbell + well connected in football."

That tweet has been retweeted by Calum Campbell, Rory's brother.

Statement from Newman and Campbell of C&N Sporting Risk

"We can confirm that over the past 10 weeks we have been in discussions with Bury FC, the EFL and others with a view to putting forward a proposal to buy the club.

"It is a very complicated scenario and there remain a number of outstanding legal and other issues that have to be addressed.

"Our background is in football and data analytics and it should therefore not be surprising that we are taking a very detailed forensic look at the realities of Bury FC finances.

"A club like Bury ought to have a viable long-term future even if the short-term future is clearly very challenging. To that end we have been in discussions with the EFL about an extension so that we can continue to explore the prospects for a purchase. We will be making no further comment at this stage."

MP James Frith on BBC 5Live confirms Dale has accepted bid from C&N Sporting Risk but...

"It’s not over the line fully in their minds (C&N) and there are a lot of questions that need to be answered about complexity of the financial situation."

Frith is confident this will be enough for the EFL to extend the deadline beyond midnight

I mentioned earlier on in the thread that a prospective buyer will surface, the EFL grant an extension, the deal sours, even bigger hole to climb out of.

If it doesn't happen then the league have dug the hole even deeper by granting the extension - I wouldn't put anything past Dale

Basically they are going to add an extension on and at the end of that extension if it isn’t done and dusted they’ll probably keep adding and adding extensions on meaning the original deadline was pointless as it was never a deadline at all.
Circuses are run better then the football league. Oh sorry, the EFL as we now must call them for some strange reason. This is getting beyond a joke. This should’ve been over before the season had started.
