Ormskirk fan(s)

Post by Funkydrummer » Tue Apr 02, 2019 4:34 pm

Went out for a lovely meal last night in Ormskirk and walked past a car with a Clarets shirt in
the back window, and it was still there when we were leaving at about ten.

Is it anyone on here and are there any more of you living there or thereabouts ?

It might be a fairly regular haunt for me in the future, so it would be good to know
who's knocking about.

Cheers in anticipation.

That's one of them pal, yeah. Well remembered, I'm impressed. Was happy to meet me on
home territory so the "halfway house" scenario was null and void. Charisma, that's what it is !!

Hopefully more to follow - it's looking very good.

Plenty of Clarets go to the University near there.

Edgehill is it?

Glad it's going well for you.

Blimey lads, I'm truly honoured and humbled by your thoughts for me. I think it's brilliant and in
true Clarets bonding . That's what it's all about.

There's one question, however, that I'm not going to answer !! Keep you guessing.

Cheers everyone, I'm very impressed.

Got to pick grandchild up now, but will be back later.

Cheers G, appreciate the sentiment.

Yes it's Edgehill Uni - nightlife seems pretty good because of it too. :o :o

My wife is an Ormskirk born Claret.I was born in Burscough and trained to teach at Edgehill.
At the time it was full of Leeds supporters.

Nope, I coughed up - I know how to treat a lady.

She offered to go Dutch but I gallantly refused. :)

That's brilliant news, I noticed the Ship on the way over there. We're off for a walk on Sunday
so I may suggest we pass by there and pay them a visit. I will also endeavour to seek out the cricketers too.

Much appreciated CP, cheers.

I now live in Burscough. Moved in with Mrs D1sco 12 months ago. Lovely village and on the whole nice people. The Hop Vine is brill for food and very reasonably priced. Cricketers in Ormskirk owned by a Claret. Has Burnley pics up around the pub. Food nice there as well.

Burnley will always be home though.

She's not really a football fan, more rugby union - a bit of class you see !! :D

However, I invited her to accompany me to the Turf and she has accepted.
We are, unfortunately, running out of games but Citeh is looking favourite if they change it to
Saturday. Prior arrangements getting in the way tbf.

I'll do my very best to convert her, rest assured.

You may have heard the phrase 'the city that never sleeps'. Ormskirk is the town that never wakes.
