Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Detectives did well to get the conviction after the anitial officers said death by drinking.
To not really have the crime scene until 5 days later with all evidence lost and suspects not speaking English.
It wasn't the easiest case to prove.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
It's been a while since I thought the courts have given a decent sentence, but I was chuffed to bits at this one.
18 years is a brilliant result.
What a horrible creature.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
18 years was a very lenient sentence.
Scumballs like that dont deserve to walk freely amongst us.

I think it's a minimum of half the sentence nowadays so 9 years

I don’t know why, but I’ve just got this funny feeling that he won’t be well behaved in prison.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
I had to laugh about all his threats. My family will do this, that and the other.
His mum didn't even want to speak to him on the phone and his dad led the police straight to where the alleged offences took place.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Just watched it. Wish I hadn’t read this thread last night because then I wouldn’t have been so infuriated that he only got 18 years throughout.
Totally agree. Death sentence is the only suitable punishment for people like him.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
We could have had that opportunity to make that decision collectively, but it’s ideologically preferred to drain the taxpayers money on other methods.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
The arrogance of that kid really plssed me off,how do the police restrain themselves from kicking in the heads of these arrogant bellends, the rapes where horrible but he had also assaulted an old girl and run a kid over...18 years is a joke.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Exactly what I thought. A history of violence towards women of all ages, from 8 to OAP, with some rapes in between. Needs an electric chair, not an 18 year prison sentence.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
He shouldn't be punished for his bad upbringing. He should have the services of a full time Physiologist and be rehabilitated and supplied with good housing and have regular paid holidays abroad

Tonight's episode pretty shocking. Beat your partner to death, long history of violence get 16 months.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
I was quite angry at the end, when they announced the sentence.
She got more for the first offence.
A big wake up call that men suffer domestic abuse as well.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Just finished watching tonight's episode and have to say that I can't believe that sentence.
What must the police think about sentences like that I wonder ? The policewoman said that one day
she would kill him, which sadly, proved to be the case.
No real evidence to prove that his injuries caused his death !!! REALLY?
How some of these lawyers defend cretins like that and still have a conscience escapes me.
I really ought to stop watching programmes like that, as I only end up annoyed and frustrated.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Tragic case and the sentence was a complete joke. But none of us can say with any certainty that his injuries led to his cardiac arrest, especially as the medical examiner’s report obviously didn’t sufficiently link the two.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Shocking - both in the way the programme developed and the sentence.
Like Rileybobs says, must’ve been a lack evidence linking the attack to the cardiac arrest.

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Last nights episode was shocking
She was charged with a section 18, which can be upto a life sentence, and she gets that joke of sentence, despite her previous
She could be out now

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody
Shocking charge, how anyone can come up with that sentence based on the evidence and her admitting to assaulting him is beyond me, no justice at all for the bloke. The CCTV of him taking the bin out where he could barely stand up because of the assault was a tough watch
