Bournemouth - where we all drinking pre-match?
On the 8:40am flight from Manchester and getting the train from Southampton to Bournemouth.
Are people drinking in Bournemouth itself or in Boscombe closer to the ground?

My stepson's partner lives in Bournemouth and is a Cherries fan. She told me Boscombe is rough, so I'm going to go stick to Bournemouth itself.

That said, I see there is a Wetherspoons in Boscombe called Sir Percy Florence-Shelley, which allows away fans.

I was in Boscombe 2 seasons ago in the Wetherspoons, with hundreds of Clarets, I've had rougher afternoons in 100 Acre Wood.
- there is another Wetherspoons, easy to find, in central Bournemouth in that large square..[4-8 Exeter Rd, Bournemouth...the Moon in the Square]
I'm not that keen on Wetherspoons, but they are large, and usually OK about football fans.
- after the match, if you go back to Boscombe [ten minutes] go straight over the busy main road, follow the woodland track to the beach..there is a big pub right there..

That pub closed last year. If you're arriving by train, it's better to get off at Bournemouth and cross the road heading toward the town centre. There's afew pubs around there. The Inferno, which sells craft beers, an Irish pub called O'Neills and a Wetherspoons called Christopher Creeke. It's about a 20 minute walk from there to the ground or you can get a bus or train to Pokesdown, which is only one stop.paulus the woodgnome wrote:That said, I see there is a Wetherspoons in Boscombe called Sir Percy Florence-Shelley, which allows away fans.

The Wight Bear Ale House about 15 minutes walk from Pokesdown train station, waitress service no less.
Very unlikely and never heard of any idiots in there.

Not been Bournemouth for many years but there used to be a big pub at the side of the main road near the park about a 10 min walk from the ground that welcomed away fans.
Can't even remember the name of it now but if anyone knows which one from that admittedly vague description is it still open?
