Re: Ashley Westwood
Thought he was top drawer today. I like him anyway, but today he was exceptionally good.
MOM for me with Dwight a close second. Mee was immense too today.

Re: Ashley Westwood
He has dragged us through some games as Cork has been absent - not today though. I thought both of them were great.

Re: Ashley Westwood
The new Dean Marney/ Joey Barton. Ran the show totally.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Re: Ashley Westwood
Yep. Shout for Jack Cork who played well today. Almost goes without saying that Westwood has a top game
Re: Ashley Westwood
I have given Cork some stick and Ash Westwood this season but just lately both have upped their games....
Could not pick on any one, great afternoon sat watching online.
Played 2 games v BunMouth and scored 8 goals
Felt sorry for Ash when it went in off his head for the OG, but he redeemed himself bigtime today scoring at the right end.
Thought Wood was a collossus up front too scoring one and assist in another, made himself a real handful
Innit Brilliant being a PL Claret

Re: Ashley Westwood
Love the steel he shows. Today up against Smith who went for him. Looked like he couldnt give a toss and was ready to take him down. So solid for a player not as big as many others
Re: Ashley Westwood
Unbelievable transformation in the last twelve months and, dare I say it, his career. The similarity - in terms of the improvement and importance in the team - with Dean Marney is remarkable.
Re: Ashley Westwood
My Player of the Season before today.
Re: Ashley Westwood
Player of the season. Tenacious and dogged today. Cool under pressure. Took his goal well when he could have skied it.
Mee was a whisker behind him.

Re: Ashley Westwood
His performances in the last two games have arguably swung my POTY vote from Taylor. He’s been immense.

Re: Ashley Westwood
Heart of a Lion and as I stated last week my POTY.
Re: Ashley Westwood
My POTY goes to McNeil. What a massive difference he's made, but Westwood isn't far behind.

Yet another outstanding display!

Westwood or Taylor for me. 5m for Westwood was an absolute steal.

He's had threads like this most of the season but I guarantee you someone will come on a thread about next season saying we need to upgrade. He's great for the way we play always shows and deserves his place.

He's been pretty good since he got here to be fair, but this season he's been immense. Glad Cork showed again today also.

Re: Ashley Westwood
Without wishing to state the obvious if the central core of the team isn't performing then you're in trouble - to be fair to Westwood he's been consistent throughout but the difference in the second half of the season has been that, generally, we've looked decent in central defence (including goalkeeper) and central attack and he's been key in maximising the effectiveness of all of the units.
Taylor and McNeil are excellent shouts but Westwood edges it on the basis that he was pivotal in dragging out the few points we gathered before Christmas when we were by and large woeful.
Hopefully we'll be able to look back on season defining games which enabled us to survive - if that's so then there's a strong case for Cardiff away - where he was arguably the difference between winning and losing.

It was over in a flash in all honesty. It was in Derby though
