Tempted to agree here. Nasty patch but have found our form again at just the right time. The cream of our squad stepping up when we need it most - love to see it.

Season after season, we know how to win when it really matters!

Exactly. And avoid defeat v Cardiff and it removes any doubt. Not that I have any. Time for Rigg and co to implement their recruit by numbers strategy....

Play like that we win, next week, but too often this season we've been a let down at home. Newcastle, CP, Saints, Huddersfield etc.,

If they can't get up for this match they shouldn't be wearing the shirt. It's their livelihoods at stake.

we will have to polish up on our defending from set pieces for next week that's for sure, we will win next week but we need to win next week to make 100% sure

This is the sort of thread B'stard supporters will jump on if (and it's looking less likely) we do go down.

The team played so well today I don't know who the man of the match is. Coming from behind to an early own goal underlines the spirit is still very much there. Great game.

We are 8 points ahead of Cardiff who have 18 points to play for; so no, not yet.

And we have more points than Newcastle now...

Re: Safe

Cardiff need to get 33% of the points they have managed in 32 games in the next 6 and we lose 5 on the bounce for them to finish above us. That would be some swing in form. It's not going to happen and avoid defeat next Saturday should hammer nails into their Welsh coffin.

Not safe yet but breathing much more easily.
20/1 for relegation now with Brighton slipping to shorter odds than us for the first time (14/1); Cardiff odds on 1/12.
Cardiff have us away & Brighton away next two games; they need to get 4 or even 6 points to be in with a fighting chance.

We were pretty much safe after the Spurs game.

If Cardiff managed 6 points from those two games the reaction on here would be epic!

I don't think we were. Without the last 2 wins a Cardiff victory next Saturday would have left us in the bottom 3 with 4 games to play.

Looking good - and most importantly all in our own hands.

I'm assuming it has happened in the past but must be unusual for a team winning 10 games to get relegated from the PL?

Far from safe yet IMO, but we have put a big marker down. I think today’s result may affect the way Cardiff approach the match next Saturday.

One thing for sure is that Cardiff have to win it, them trying to do that must be to our benefit.

While I've never doubted we're good enough to stay up the Cardiff game is huge and a win should seal safety. Though It's quite possible we may lose all our last 4 games which could make for a messy scramble. Personally I see Everton maybe half way to the beach but City at home and Chelsea away and Arsenal who may well be fighting for a champs league spot could be blo0dy hard indeed. I think we'll nick a point or 2 and if the arsenal have a dead rubber I think we'll beat em and round of a very tidy "strong jaw" season

It's not over until that larger lady has sung, but it is looking promising now. A win against Cardiff will all but seal it for me. We don't need complacency in the stands against Cardiff, they'll be up for it and so must we.

Nowhere near safe.

36 points and still have a horrendous run in.

Lose to Cardiff and they win their game in hand v fulham and its 2 points gap with that run in.

Next weeks the biggest game in years.

I know Bournemouth were poor today (although credit to our lads for making them look so bad) but we should be looking up not down based on that performance. You’ve got to be really pessimistic to think that Cardiff can make up that gap. If I was a Cardiff fan I would be really, really worried. Let’s think about finishing above Newcastle as well.

No way we’re out the woods yet, although the gradient is less steep than it was a couple weeks ago. A win against Cardiff would make it more flat. Our last 3 games still scare me though, we’ll need to protect the goals against.

Palace fan i work with always goes on about the season in the early 90s when they were 8 points clear of Oldham who had 3 games left to play. Think the team might have done a victory lap at that point but of course famously went down.

So whilst we are almost there we need a positive result against Cardiff

Exactly.

Thankfuly Dyche will NOT be telling the team we are safe yet!
