Shouldn't that be head and Shoulders above Joe Hart?Vegas Claret wrote:head and shoulders above Brady
Think *fortune*is not really giving the scouting system, youth coaches, manager and player the credit they deserve.Vegas Claret wrote:I've said it all along, the aimless hoofball of earlier in the season produced horrific performances and results - the minute we get the ball down and play we are a good side, we've seen it again today. no, read what I putTinribs wrote:Think *fortune*is not really giving the scouting system, youth coaches, manager and player the credit they deserve.
It matters not what you said all along we can only play to our strengths... if it means row z so be it. Whats comparing Brady to mcneil got to do with anything?Vegas Claret wrote:I've said it all along, the aimless hoofball of earlier in the season produced horrific performances and results - the minute we get the ball down and play we are a good side, we've seen it again today. but we weren't playing to our strengths, now we are. The other question I'm not answering because it's so ******* obvioustim_noone wrote:It matters not what you said all along we can only play to our strengths... if it means row z so be it. Whats comparing Brady to mcneil got to do with anything?
To the strengths available at the time... Now back on track...it's so obvious it didn't really need pointing out tbh.onward and upwards anyway...let's enjoy where we are.Vegas Claret wrote:but we weren't playing to our strengths, now we are. The same strengths we had today really mate.tim_noone wrote:To the strengths available at the time... Now back on track...it's so obvious it didn't really need pointing out tbh.onward and upwards anyway...let's enjoy where we are.

Look, I LOVE Dyche, he's the man - bar none. But sometimes the tactics and the play have been lacking - especially earlier in the season. Even recently having played football on the deck and done well doing it, the next game we are giving it to James "do I remind you of Franz Beckenbauer when I do this?" Tarkowski to hoof it straight to their defenders. People question this, because they KNOW we are far better than that.
not forgetting Tottenham.boatshed bill wrote:What is it with our team?
A few weeks ago they were really poor with no shape, then you get performances like the last two
Yes, Tim, it kind of illustrates my point. We can be very good.tim_noone wrote: not forgetting Tottenham.
Yes William I did get what you were saying. Thing is the minute we raise our game the vultures will circle....boatshed bill wrote:Yes, Tim, it kind of illustrates my point. We can be very good.
Actually vultures only circle when something's dying or dead.tim_noone wrote:Yes William I did get what you were saying. Thing is the minute we raise our game the vultures will circle....
isn't that our club model though, buy cheaply and sell for a profit ? Good job McNeil signed that long term contract !!tim_noone wrote:Yes William I did get what you were saying. Thing is the minute we raise our game the vultures will circle....
Sean dyche has got to be a great Poker Player...bobinho wrote:"24 points in 14 games since the halfway stage on the season. Only 4 teams in the prem have more points than that. More than Chelsea and Spurs
Can’t be that much wrong with the squad ... or the managers tactics"
Amazing what a couple of wins can do to the memory.
What did the stats say before the Wolves game?
The squad is small, and lightweight. The tactics have been up and down. No-one is really seriously going to challenge that are they?
But it’s football. And more than this, it’s Premier League football. There is a huge element of chance. The players aren’t machines to be programmed, but people who are imperfect. If (and there are no reasons to disbelieve him) Dyche sets out to win every game, then he succeeds or fails based on a lot more than his tactics - which might or might not go his way on the pitch. He’s up against some of the best managers in the world, who themselves make mistakes. It’s just a lot more nuanced than Dyche’s tactics.bobinho wrote:The same strengths we had today really mate.

Yes Agreed but maybe the models changing....contracts aren't worth the paper written on tbf. The better we play ...the better players leave. Let's just go about our business quietly. I mean even Mersons raving about us now and we've only beat BournemouthVegas Claret wrote:isn't that our club model though, buy cheaply and sell for a profit ? yeah I saw Merson saying we would give City a game - which we will at the Turf I think.tim_noone wrote:Yes Agreed but maybe the models changing....contracts aren't worth the paper written on tbf. not really, there are games where we aimlessly launch it (the entire first half of the season), then McNeil comes into the team and we play more football. You'll find plenty of people say we haven't played well when we've won tooDarnhill Claret wrote:Not quite sure how the critics know what Sean’s tactics in a game are, when the players don’t play very well. Seems they’re happy with the tactics when we play well. Could it just be that the tactics are roughly the same in each game, it’s just the quality of performance that is the variable.
The annoying thing is that Murger dosen't understand that there are two teams playing in each game and opposing team presents different challenges.Murger wrote:The annoying thing is, when we don't hoof it, we are a good team. I just don't get why Dyche goes back to type after 1 loss.
Did you watch us last season ? We played some superb stuff against pretty much every clublevraiclaret wrote:The annoying thing is that Murger dosen't understand that there are two teams playing in each game and opposing team presents different challenges.
I'll hold my hands up and say I thought we were all but down after we lost to Leicester, however I never doubted that Sean Dyche should stay. He was my number one choice when he got the job and I will stand by him until he departs (however that comes about).pushpinpussy wrote:name and shame I say. Yes I was at pretty much every match, including the eleven match winless run from December to March when Wood was out and also Defour from January.Vegas Claret wrote:Did you watch us last season ? We played some superb stuff against pretty much every club
I don't know what you were watching last season, but a lot of it was backs to the wall 1-0 wins. Which haven't gone for us this season because the framework, shape etc wasn't there. And the admission of the manager saying that he wanted to try and get more expansive.Vegas Claret wrote:Did you watch us last season ? We played some superb stuff against pretty much every club
N yet we are safe again, unlike Fulham who spent £100m on transfers n went down! so what do you want next season? Trust Sir Sean or do a Fulham? I await your reply!Bin Ont Turf wrote:I don't know what you were watching last season, but a lot of it was backs to the wall 1-0 wins. We don't play any different against anyone. Yes there are a few minor tactical tweaks here and there but it's still the same way of playing.
There's not a switch that we can just flick.
