Neil Etheridge
Had an outstanding season for Cardiff and several times this campaign, has won points for his side. Next Saturday shouldn’t be a case of shooting from all angles: he’s a fine shot stopper. More of the same tactics employed v Bournemouth will do nicely. Lots of build-up play, bring the wingers into it, overload the fullbacks occasionally and get plenty of crosses into the box. Crosses are not Etheridge’s forté and for me, this is an area we should be hoping the Clarets can exploit.

Re: Nathan Etheridge
agree, have to also say WE will need to defend set pieces better than we did today or we could be in trouble

Re: Nathan Etheridge
Didn’t look a great shot-stopper when De Bruyne beat him at the near post the other night!

Did you watch the rest of the game? He made lots of good saves.scouseclaret wrote:Didn’t look a great shot-stopper when De Bruyne beat him at the near post the other night!

Re: Nathan Etheridge
. thinks Etheridge has been like Joe Hart - a few outstanding saves but lets in too many he should be dealing with.

Re: Neil Etheridge
Nice to see MOTD picking up on Etheridge’s weakness on crosses. Worked a treat today!

Re: Neil Etheridge
We've been putting players on and around the goalkeeper for a long while now.
Nothing new today.

Re: Neil Etheridge
I wouldn’t say he has a weakness because of our deadballs. We did exactly the same to Begovic, last week, highlighted after Chris Woods goal. We are delivering it to or outside the far post and getting a lot of bodies in that area. If they match us there they will be short from any loose balls that ensue. As with the goal last week if we get a man between the keeper and the ball he can’t get through. Very clever.jdrobbo wrote:Nice to see MOTD picking up on Etheridge’s weakness on crosses.
