I used to think a little like you royaldyche, but the RealDyche taught me differently. It's not about being a "better" player, but how effective they are. Barnes is one of our most "effective" players. He might be a worse footballer than Ings, or have less pace than Rondon or a combination of those things, but what he does do he does brilliantly. He can bring the ball down, battle all of the centre halfs in the league, and also find time to score 10+. If we ever have a more effective striker at this level I'll be pleasantly surprised. Wood is turning into a decent signing, but his game has far less to it than Barnes in my opinion.

Barnes is one of the first names on the team sheet for me.

One Sunday paper called him Burnley's rag bag striker, sums him up perfectly, put's himself around, great player.

One thing Barnes does better than most Premier League players - he hits it first time. So often they take a touch in the hope of getting a better opening, but by the time they shoot the defenders are in the way. Hit it first time, and the defenders don't have so much time to get in the way.

Keep Barnes and Wood. Try get Che Adams and push hard for Jarrod Bowen.

If you asked the back 8 of every team we've played who they don't like playing against at Burnley, I don't think many would say Wood or Cork or Westwood. You'd get a couple say McNeill or JBG, but generally, They'd all say Barnes!
