Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Not the answer I was looking for because Tottenham have technically not moved to a new stadium, they have just extended the old one.Tricky Trevor wrote:Never moved home stadiums.

Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Bournemouth haven’t moved grounds, but they have changed the orientation of the pitch by 90 degrees. Spurs have slightly moved their ground a pitch length or so up the road. Huddersfield and Arsenal have moved essentially across the road from their old ground to their new.

The group with Burnley in it have all retained they original or long standing ground names and never sold out to big market sponsors. Long may it continue and Turf Moor for ever.

Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Interestingly, Re. the reorientation of Dean Court;
Portsmouth intended to do something similar back in the Noughties. They even built the new Fratton End with a design that could be disassembled and rebuilt facing another way.
As it happens, circumstances overtook their plans.

Unfortunately, they ended up with seats facing the pitch.

Haven’t Newcastle renamed St James Park after one of Mike Ashley’s companies? At least for a short while!Better Call Saul wrote:You got it Factual Frank.

Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Hasn’t St James’ Park got Sports Direct in the name these days?
Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Didn't Wolves move their pitch to one side as they redeveloped their ground?
Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Yes, From WikiLord Beamish wrote:Haven’t Newcastle renamed St James Park after one of Mike Ashley’s companies? At least for a short while!
Renaming of the stadium[edit]
On 10 November 2011, Newcastle United announced that the stadium would officially be renamed Sports Direct Arena, as a temporary measure to "showcase the sponsorship opportunity to interested parties", whilst looking for a sponsor for possible future stadium re-branding. According to the club, the St James' Park title was dropped as not being "commercially attractive".[36]
Previously, in 2009, the club had announced plans to sell the naming rights for the stadium. After protests about the possible loss of the name of the stadium, which included the tabling of an early day motion in Parliament, the club clarified the following week that the move would not involve the loss of the name St James' Park altogether, citing the example of 'SportsDirect.com@StJamesPark' as a potential stadium rights package.[37][38] The following day, the club announced that the stadium would be known as sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium temporarily until the end of the season, to showcase the idea behind the package, until the new sponsor was announced.[39] The stadium's official renaming as the Sports Direct Arena, or SDA, caused considerable perturbation amongst Magpie supporters.
On 9 October 2012, payday loan company Wonga.com became Newcastle United's main commercial sponsor and purchased the stadium naming rights. They subsequently announced that the St James' Park name would be restored as part of the deal

Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Fact (that the majority of you probably know): Everton haven't always played at Goodison. This was their "new" stadium when they moved out of Anfield.

They have built a brand new stadium that is not on the same footprint, it's certainly not an extension of the old one.Better Call Saul wrote:Not the answer I was looking for because Tottenham have technically not moved to a new stadium, they have just extended the old one.

Re: Premier League Quiz Question
Bournemouth themselves consider the current ground a new one because it has actually moved slightly and they even played home games elsewhere while it was being built.claptrappers_union wrote:Bournemouth haven’t moved grounds?
