Truro City v Concord Rangers
Don't know if this has been posted but the game was abandoned yesterday because a player was injured and couldn't be moved until the ambulance arrived which took two and a half hours.
When I go down to Gawthorpe to watch youth or u23 games there is always an ambulance in attendance. It sometimes appears over the top but reading this it makes total sense.

Read about that this morning.
Think something was lost in translation.
Hard to believe it took that long.

Do they not evaluate the seriousness of an injury before sending out an ambulance? Maybe a dislocated shoulder wasn’t seen as a priority. Mind you if he couldn’t be moved, perhaps it was worse than that.
Re: Truro City v Concord Rangers
I don't believe an ambulance should be on site just in case and of course ambulance services must prioritise their calls as they did in this instance.

A loft will depend on what thee caller said in response to any questions they were asked when the ambulance was requested.

Re: Truro City v Concord Rangers
Very odd reading that.
“The ambulance service said its clinical hub initially assessed the call as a category three, which gives a two-hour target response time.”
It took 2 and a half hours for the ambulance to come yet
“The South Western Ambulance Service said it responded within target times.”
Am I the only one confused? If the target is within 2 hours and it took them 2 and a half hours to get there how can they say they responded within the target time? Seems odd.
Gets even odder when the last line says “The service said it arrived within the 40-minute target for a call of this type.”
Eh? Now the target is 40 minuets and apparently they claim they got there in 40 minuets? Makes no sense!

The Darlo v Utd of Manchester game was listed as abandoned on Sky, yesterday, but when I searched for the reason why it came up as a 2-0 home win. Curious.

It’s hardy the Ambulance staffs fault though, is it? It’s not as if they were just sat in the van twiddling their thumbs.
The NHS has been severely cut... but I suppose you voted for them.

On the other hand, if professional clubs are tying up two or three ambulances each, then perhaps that's why there are fewer available for less rich people.ClaretTony wrote:Don't know if this has been posted but the game was abandoned yesterday because a player was injured and couldn't be moved until the ambulance arrived which took two and a half hours.

The average call-out time of ambulances has been made much longer because they now have higher qualified medics on board who give a lot of treatment before loading up the patient, and also because ambulances are used an an "extra ward" at the other end, where the patient is kept on board until he can be seen by a medic inside. Hence each ambulance shifts a lot fewer patients than when they were purely emergency vehicles, hence they need a lot more of them.

When we have one on standby at Barnfield is that an NHS or private ambulance?
