He's been absolutely fantastic for us, but if we are to improve then it's time for an upgrade on Jack Cork, so I wouldn't be keeping him "at all cost".

So sad. Needs support of a Defour in midfield :(

What?, you think that Westwood has been letting him down?

Cork's form has been patchy at times this season like a number of players. I'd definitely keep hold of him.

No, I think a Defour type player would give Jack more time on the ball.

Opponents have learned that if you cut his space, you cut his effectiveness. With a rejuvenated Defour, or similar, Jack will come good again.

Yes, me too, but the question was "keep (at all cost)" and there would certainly be scenarios in which I would let him go, (with thanks).

Agyei? He’s 21 and hasn’t played league football for over a year. He’s had loans in the lower leagues and hardly got off the bench. He’s not good enough for us.

Nobody. All all costs implies paying over the odds. We can’t do that for anyone. If we are offered silly money for any player they will be sold.

We need an "as much as we can afford" central midfield player that walks into the team leaving Cork and Westwood to compete for the other place (Westwood by a mile this season)

We need to look to the future, but I take your point

Under 23 so costs little and doesn't impact on squad size, so unless we have a buyer there's not much point in getting rid of him.

Tarkowski
Mee
Taylor

Westwood

McNeil

Barnes
Wood

I wouldn’t lose sleep if any of the others left. That is not to say I’d be actively trying to sell them all, but wouldn’t be concerned if any of them were sold, personally. The ones above are what we need to be building our team around for next season. I am hoping for at least two players that can go straight into the first 11. After a very settled/consistent squad for a couple of years, I think it’s time for a bit of turnover.

Realistically Tarkowski could potentially leave and be our big money maker this summer, and I’d be surprised if we don’t line Pope up for some profit as well. I’d love or see them both stay, however this is how we operate as we all know. McNeil is the other who will generate a lot of cash although I think a full season in the Premier League with us next year, will in my opinion ,are this lad into a superstar and will make Burnley an absolute fortune

At all costs gets you into the realms of Bolton etc. All players have a price and an agent getting them both more cash. I hope the players mentioned and I don't disagree with most selections want to stay to play football for a decent wage at a club where traditional values are upheld.

I imagine we'll need pretty much everyone judging by the last couple of transfer windows.

Nobody here seems keen to keep either Bardsley or Lowton which might be high risk if we don't recruit a couple of very, very good right backs.
I do agree with others who feel Cork has been a great signing and was excellent last season, but this term he's been inconsistent and has got slower and slower and is caught in possession too often which may well mean he's on his way. Pope will go (sadly, but understandably) for a hefty fee if we can't guarantee he'll start, which we clearly can't and I don't think Gibson will accept another season on the bench, so it'll be either him or Tarks going for pretty big bucks.

I think Tarks, Pope ( or Heaton ) and Hart will all go over the Summer ..

Tarks and either of Pope or Heaton will go to a big-six Club, looking to increase their English first teamers, and Hart will go to MLS/China for a last big-money move ... I reckon there won't be movement on Dwight McNeil until the bigger clubs see if he " trains on " after his breakthrough season ...

We can't afford to keep anyone "at all costs", but if the real question is who should we be doing our utmost to keep, the answer is everyone who has played 15 or so games this season, with the possible exceptions of Hart and Bardsley.

Recruitment at this level is hard enough without getting rid of proven players who have by and large done very well for us - if (and it's still if) we stay up this season then that will mean we've had 3 successful half seasons out of our last 4.

We need 4, possibly 5 players this summer - of which realistically a couple will go straight into the starting eleven - and that will probably see nearly all the out of contract players plus one or two others move on, but otherwise we need to keep as many of our first team squad together as possible. There's a danger we underestimate what we have and the rebuilding job needs to be kept in proportion I think. New blood and a dash of extra quality is desirable but so is continuity and in any event without gargantuan turnover we cannot maintain competition for places any other way.

Surely we cash in on Pope and I can’t see Tarky staying , Hart must be off along with the more obvious Wells , Walters , Vydra, Bards ,maybe Lennon and Defour ( Though love to see him fully fit) . Could be a fair old clear out but if we stay up we could have funds for a couple of genuine high quality players imo

Heaton, Pope.

Lowton,Tarks, Mee, Gibson, Taylor.
I’d have no problem keeping Bardsley but his age counts against him.

JBG, Hendrick, Westwood, McNeil

Barnes, Wood

We need to keep the entire squad at all cost, the run from Xmas of 24 points from 14 games is excellent, what we need to do is add 2 or 3 players to the squad, if it ain't broke don't fix it

Keep at all costs:
McNeil
Westwood
Taylor (his improvement has been staggering)
Heaton & Pope

Like to keep
Tarky
Mee
Barnes
Wood

All the rest can be improved on, even with our limited budget
