Apparently neither of the stands will be opening until at least January 2020 because it's suddenly been pointed out that they need gender neutral loos (and Mr Barnfield didn't know that!).

Probably to stop those on the front row of the blocks from blocking the aisle directly in front. In the home end of the CFS they can just step forward into the aisle. I'm guessing this will mean they have to walk to the end of the row like everyone else...

The new seats in JHL make the other seats plastic seats look really tired. I didn’t realise how faded the other seats were, even in the the upper tiers. I’m sure they’ll replace the others too over time though. Looks a laborious job.

Maybe there is a better option than crappy plastic, something that lasts about 50 years? Maybe solid sturdy far better quality wooden seats.

I wonder if UEFA's rationale is for public safety. If someone was to chuck a seat at my head I'd much rather it be plastic than wooden. In which case there is a rationale for the policy but it's sad that the rationale exists.

At our away match at Bolton, just after Coyle had left, there were some neanderthal like Burnley fans near me trying to break the seats in-between chanting racist abuse at the Bolton players.

They didn't manage it, but they gave it a right good go.

That's UEFA's theory. Though I very much doubt that putting a match to a solid lump of wood like that would set it alight. You can't light a fire by putting a flame top a log; you need paper and kindling, or firelighters.

Plastic burns as well, but UEFA probably don't know that.

The area outside the JH/JM corner is now all surfaced and barriers removed, and looks essentially finished .One or two small areas look like they need tidying up but nothing major .The other corner looks a few weeks off but plenty of work going on

Was at the Sean Q&A last year when Monsieur Garlick confirmed a 2nd screen was on the cards but they just had to decide where to locate it?

This falls into the famous category of "we used to be indecisive but now we are not so sure"!!

Where else but on top of the new corner stand between JM and BL can this additional screen be sensibly accommodated?

At least we are consistent as a club, just like our Player Recruitment Department, the "where shall we put the new tv screen" Decision Team, neither do anything in a rush. Let's have a brew and ponder a bit longer shall we???

I won’t be able to drive for 4-6 weeks apparently so will certainly miss a few games at the start of the season.

My query was whether the club would potentially allow someone who has recently undergone surgery, and not disabled but struggling on their legs, the option of utilising these facilities for a game or two until recuperated and a bit more confident to climb up to my regular seat? Is that cheeky to even think?

That sounds a reasonable proposal to me, after all you've paid for a seat in the ground, just not in that particular area. I wouldn't have thought that the areas for the disabled will be full and so your request should and could be granted on that assumption.

You’d like to think that they have “over-catered” the seating and that those with a “temporary” disability will be able to arrange to use the facilities if needed.

That would be a fair comment Rileybobs under normal circumstances as I sit in the JHU but can't see the current tv screen, which to date has not been an issue whatsoever. However with VAR now in play, why should half the ground (including the away lot) get to see what's going on re the reviews whilst a large chunk of "BFC fare paying passengers" in the JH stand not get a look in?

Mr Brother had both hips replaced a few years ago. He asked the club if he could use the disabled facilities and was told 'No'. He continued to use his seat in the Longside Upper with his crutches, until he was fully healed. During that time, he also went to Man Utd with his crutches. As soon as they saw him, They immediately took him (and my nephew who was with him) to the lift and escorted him to the disabled facilities, where they were both given superb seats with a brilliant view. He has no love for Man Utd but was very impressed by the best treatment he received from any other club, including Burnley, without even being asked.

I was on crutches for games at five grounds. Burnley were the only one of the five unhelpful.

CT, I’ll be interested in the response, I asked whilst enquiring about seat swaps in CFS and the reply I received was not conclusive in any way. Although, I was asking about swapping for the odd game in case I take my autistic step son; or my bowel disease is bad and I am having issues with mobility and urgency and I don’t think they’ve thought through what the policy will be for situations such as mine.

Doubt you'll need a brace for an ACL and you should be hobbling about on your crutches within 3 or 4 days if all goes well.

I had mine done over 10 years ago and was on the turf within two weeks albeit I had to go on a lower tier and hung around at the end to let the crowds filter out a bit

Hope it goes well mate but it's amazing what they can do and how quickly things recover these days
