Good win today,it doesn't look great though that stand does it
Re: New Corner Stands
Maybe if you’d have concentrated more on the game and less on the stand you’d have noticed we didn’t winSteve1956 wrote:Good win today,it doesn't look great though that stand does it
I think the stand looks fine. There’s still some work to do on it and looking at the outside it does look like some fittings have gone on to fit some sort of cladding, so that will look better.
Edit - apologies, just seen the scoreboard. Did it really say that?

Not for the first time. Turf Moor was a three sided ground (albeit different sides) for nearly 7 years from Dec'67 until Feb'74.Steve1956 wrote: God help us if the ever rebuild the CFS,we will only have 3 sides of the ground for years it really has been a shambles.

Re: New Corner Stands
Was there last night and they’ve emblazoned “the longside” on to the bottom of the corner stand (Jimmy Mac/ Longside corner). Which makes me think whether that will be the name of the corner stand OR they’re scrapping the JH bathroom deal and officially going to rename it the longside?

Fantastic
Re: New Corner Stands
Might not be PC but so glad the Longside was built into an embankment and not built of steel and we therefore we would have called it the Ironside.

Whats going on in the other corner that you can see through the gap ? The little white bit on legs looks odd.

Re: New Corner Stands
I think the initial release of sketches indicated that the other corner stand might be raised, with a gap underneath tall enough to walk under. Maybe for accessibility, maintenance, lawn mowers etc. The white legs might be part of that structure.randomclaret2 wrote:Whats going on in the other corner that you can see through the gap ? upkeep of the grass. Some grounds have struggled with this when there is no crossflow of air.
More relevant to new, all enclosed, grounds.

Sometimes projects look as though nothing much has happened or moved on, then within 2 days it looks all but finished.wilks_bfc wrote:I was there on Sunday in the James Hargreaves.

Appearances are deceiving especially in construction or renovations.
My extension looked like a building site, and within a few days after it had been plaster boarded, skimmed , electrics, and joinery had been done it was all but complete. Literally from a no go zone to usable in a matter of days.
Not saying it'll be within days due to the size of this project, but it'll go from looking no where near, to very near, very quickly.

The Longside corner is pretty much done, I'm not sure why all the fencing is still around the outside of it though. Maybe the pathways and tarmac needs laying down or something?wilks_bfc wrote:It still has the fencing up around the outside and couldn’t see much of it from the inside

The Longside/Beehole link joins the two stands reasonably well and is fit for purpose. However the black/grey colour scheme is a strange choice and looks odd against the existing structures.

I'm in the Bob Lord, and a wide seat that doesn't tip itself up is a wonderful thing.
