Looks like the second of the corner stands isn’t too far away from being ready. According to the link above it won’t be open Saturday but the club are looking to hold a necessary ’test event’ at one of the following two home Premier League games.

'...The club has a second screen yet to be installed, once a suitable location is agreed...'

surely its very obvious where the 2nd screen should be located!

I haven't been able to view the original screen since it was relocated out of the Cricket Field Stand!

Surely if we can see it from JHU you can see it from the CFS...?

We commented on the re-inforcing and hand rails on the top of the South East Stand matching the Hand rails on the North East Stand (where the Big screen is located) pointing to that being the location of 2nd screen.... the ones with difficulty seeing will be the ones in the JMU

Regardless of where they put the second screen, there’ll be fans in the BL who won’t see either, because of the low roof.

I wonder if this will prompt the club to renovate the BL, or at least put a new roof on that slopes up a little instead of down.

Whatever did we do before being able to see a screen (that just shows ads half the time anyway)

You think the club will put a new roof on so a few fans can see a screen?

It’s not just a screen though, is it? It’s now part of the game with VAR coming in.

You can’t have a few hundred fans in the upper reaches of the BL who can’t see the VAR decisions. I don’t care about a screen either, but I wouldn’t sit there if I couldn’t see the VAR decisions.

Edit- and there may be some sort of Premier League stipulation that all fans in the ground have to see the VAR screens.

The big screen is going to be important though for relaying VAR decisions to the crowd.

Not any time soon I'd think given Liverpool and Man U don't have screens. Can't see them pushing around the two biggest clubs in the league.

And if they did, surely cheaper to stick a few 65" screens high up on the columns in the stand?

The decisions will be announced on the PA system as well so no one will miss out.

Why not do a full survey of each seat in the ground and, after doing so, put small monitors on the back of the seats in front of those who can’t see the Big Screen.

Now that problem is sorted; into the intractable Middle East and its panoply of difficulties.

PA announcements for those who can’t see screens. Clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United don’t even have screens.

Just build a structure so we can hang a 4 sided one over the centre spot like they do in Ice hockey. Easy! 8-)

You're thinking too small here. What we really need are hover chairs for every spectator so we can zip around to wherever the best angle is to view the big screen, the goalmouth action, well-endowed female streakers etc etc.

There seems only two options, in the corner above the tunnel, and on top of the other disabled stand.

Considering we wouldn’t be helping the view of anybody by putting it above the tunnel (due to where the first one has been put), the only logical place is on top of the other disabled stand I would have thought.

the real solution to displaying the VAR decisions is to live stream to a local web broadcast and provide decent WiFi for everyone to connect to with their smartphones - guest logon, with a free broadcast - easy to do with some fairly cheap WiFi kit. You shouldn't have to provide an internet connection either, just local WiFi.

Now I think about it though your idea is better, cos if we can patent the hover technology we use to keep such a large object suspended in mid air then we could sell the rights to all sorts of companies to generate money to be able to compete against the likes of City.

Attended the game on Saturday as my dad's assistant. The new facilities are excellent. A few little teething issues which I am sure will be ironed out i am sure.

Seeing the conditions yesterday and being sat in releative comfort warm and dry couldn't have come soon enough.

One thing that made me smile was the additional row of 'family and friend' seats on the first tier so groups can still enjoy the game together

I would have thought it a relatively simple engineering design job to create a structure that would allow the corner between the BL and CF stands to site the screen. Whatever constraints at ground level could be easily managed by competent engineering.

Nothing to stop it projecting into the CF stand. It doesn't necessarily have to be centred above the corner flag!

Are they going to put the seats back in the bottom corner of the lower tier of the Jimmy Mc now that the 'elevated platform' area is obsolete?

Won't matter to those few as they won't know they cannot see the screens. Half of them still think Andy Farrell plays for us

Aside from the other disabled stand and opposite corner, the only other place I think that could hold a screen would be slap bang in the middle of the Bob Lord roof.

That way all of the Longside could see it and Jimmy Mc stand, BUT would ruin the classic view of chimney pots etc on the landscape.

As someone else mentioned, I also noticed the handrails on the top of the unfinished disabled stand so I think it’ll end up on there anyway.

My biggest problem with the stands (and I know this might seem petty) is that they aren’t ‘Burnleyfide’ enough. Just wish they’d paint the white breeze blocks claret or something! Hell, I’ll even paint it myself if they’ll let me. It would just make them blend in with the surrounding stands so much better.

Doubt it. There has to be a minimum number of seats available for disabled and those are probably still required to make up the numbers.

Interesting idea. Is it because the big screen costs about as much as a Twix?

A friend of mine has had to move into the corner stand this season and he’s on the top floor. I’ve spoken to him today and he said there were teething problems but his view overall is very positive and he said the stewards up there couldn’t be more helpful.

It looked like the control room at the top of the SE one was in use yesterday. There were TV screens clearly visible behind the glass front of the upper deck.

They should put a few 50 inch screens in the roof cavity of the bob lord. There you go, sorted
