He wants to leave because he wants to go back down to London with his family. Not too sure a move to Burnley would achieve that.

Good player though.

It's quicker to travel to London from Newcastle than it is Burnley, although he wold probably live in Manchester like most of the players.

He could come and live in Warrington which is only 1 stop from Euston 1 hr 50 mins, He could then give me a lift to the Turf on match days.
That's a real carrot to dangle in front of him.

I mean, yes that's true, and I suppose it passes the "Robbie Savage test", but it's still the case that of all the teams likely to be in the Premier League next season there'll probably only be Newcastle that is less convenient than Burnley to get from London.

Burnley isn't that much nearer to London than Newcastle, if you are using public transport it's a lot further

As spice says, he wants to return down south and this has been common knowledge up this area for some considerable time. He has been fairly regular in the team for the last 15 matches but the Newcastle fans think as much of him as many Burnley fans think of Jeff Hendrick.

I wasn't wearing my glasses when I saw the OP - thought it was about an American soul singer. ;)

Cannot understand why Shelvey has been left on sidelines unless fallen out with Rafa
