We bowled so well for the first eight or nine overs. Very unlucky not to take more wickets and now Middlesex seem to have taken control.

I assumed as they where batting Middlesex won the toss, but no we inserted them, looks a bad decision, could be a long day in the field.

Morgan gone (Bohannon)

Middlesex 199/5

The score doesn’t indicate it, but Lancashire have bowled brilliantly all day today

Looking like a good day for Lancashire. Now time for the batsmen to step up after their poor efforts last year.

Quite the turn around. I listened to most of the first session and it sounded as though Middlesex were content to survive.

Decent day in the end for the Red Rose, good to see Bailey among the wickets again, and Jimmy does what Jimmy does,of course Lancs won't have his services for most of the Summer,so it's vital we capitalise while we do,down to Hameed and co tomorrow to make this first day count.

It was a good day yesterday in the Long Room and the Bowlers Room mingling with the MCC members who live in a complete different world to us.

Anderson will play more for Lancs than you may think this season because he won't be involved in any of the England white ball cricket of which there will be loads.

Middlesex all out for 265. They swung the bat at it this morning and added 20-odd runs quite easily, for the last wicket.

It looked a good wicket John so 265 after the start that they got is a good performance from the Lancs bowlers.

Can’t see England letting Anderson play too many games for Lancs.

Big end to the summer, they won’t want him to pick up any injuries.

To his credit he always seems keen to play whenever possible but at his age he’ll be managed carefully.

Cheers for that live link, jd

However they’ve finished the strip those stripes are very helpful for seeing the pitch of the ball against your off stump. I know they are pros but every little helps.

" At lunch ... with Lancs on 82/6, or Middlesex on 103/1, depending on who wins the toss ... ;) " .... was what I posted on the previous " Start of the Cricket season " thread, not too shabby a prediction ...

For division two cricket there is some top players taking part in this game. How many are playing with international experience? - quite a number.

With the players we have out there, I have been so impressed with how we have performed throughout the entirety of this game. We’ve bowled well and that it nicely. Let’s just hope we can get the job done with maximum points!

Lancs should be able to wrap this game up tomorrow, useful wicket late on,the bowling hasn't been an issue,it's the lack of runs,if the batters can put scores on the board, with this attack lancashire will win a lot of games.

A painful watch for the first hour but Josh Bohannon and Jimmy have struck in quick succession. Middlesex now 4 down and still 41 behind, with two batters on 0* at the crease....
