Pubs near Burnley

Post by cockneyclaret » Fri Apr 12, 2019 4:37 pm

A few of us are coming up by train tomorrow.
London - leeds and off at Halifax.
Are there any local towns outside Burnley that are worth a few pre match pints? Be nice to venture somewhere different than Burnley?

You could get off at Tod and go into the Spoons next to the train station.

Tod has several good pub options, not just the Spoons (The White Hart). The Queen's Head and The Polished Knob are good and there are others. Hebden Bridge has plenty and is only a short train ride too.

Cheers for that, we'll have a look around there.. any ideas on cab prices if we leave it too late for the train?

If you’re getting off at Halifax, the Three Pigeons is only ten minutes walk away from the station. That’s well worth a visit.

I'm from Accrington and whilst there may be 'choice', there isn't 'quality'!

Last time I got a taxi from Todmorden to Padiham which is 3 mile further on it was 25 quid.
